Yup, you're right. The guy I bought mine from sold out.

Got my lower and starting to build it today, it was going quite well with essentially just a wrench and some tape. Then I hit a snag with the grip screw, I don't have anything that would fit it and so I have to stop for the day.

As far as oiling the various parts of the lower, I'm assuming you need very little to no oil down there, right? I wiped off the packing grease and cleaned up the parts, but used a little CLP on the hammer and trigger springs since they are parts that have something rotating around them. Most of the steel parts like the mag catch and bolt release got a little bit of oil too, but not drenched or anything.

Hopefully I'll return here sometime tomorrow and share pictures!

If the colt rail guns were cheaper, I'd get one. The operator is a great stand in, however. My LWCO has just been a little disappointing. I've got less than 1k rounds through it and I've had to send it in for warranty work already because the extractor was messed up, and it still won't lock back on the last round during anything but slow fire. If I try any drills, it goes straight back into battery. Apparently it's an issue with commander length guns. Wilson makes a guide rod that should fix it, but it says on their site that it won't work with an LWCO. I may buy it and try it anyways.

hey /ARG/ im looking to build my first AR. I have a few questions.

With a 16" barrel, will it make any difference to use a mid length over a carbine length gas system?
I hate the standard A2 front irons, is it possible to use a low profile gas block with most rail systems on a 16" barrel?
Are there any limitations regarding rails when using a mid length or carbine gas system? For example, can i stick a 14 inch rail on a 16 inch barrel with either of those gas systems?
Can only certain rails be used with certain upper receivers?

Last question: What is the average price of your fist AR?

Priginally, I was having issues with a casing getting stick on the feed ramp on the last round of a mag, com0letely locking the slide up and requiring extreme acts of dexterity to clear. It started happening a lot, so I sent it back to Springfield and they refitted the extractor. It hasn't happened again, but I'm still getting the failure to lock back pretty consistently.

I'll probably speak to a springfield rep and see what they think about getting a different captured recoil spring system, because I'm pretty sure that's the source of my issues.
