Sup /k/. Your 4chan virtual soccer tournament manager here with a couple big updates. I've had board ads up all this week and intended to go through the weekend, but Hiro just nuked self-service ads for some reason. Therefore this is my only direct line to you all.

First big thing and most important is the roster poll, we're updating the team and all the songs, so I'd really appreciate your votes on deciding which we should use. We have about 100 player options that need to be narrowed down to 23 and dozens of songs to sort through. The Autumn Cup is the next tournament /k/ is playing which starts at the end of the month, so we need to get that straight.

The second big thing is pic related. I'm organizing a competition to decide the next team scarf. Like the Cup for all of 4chan, it will be a virtual soccer tournament, but instead of boards across 4chan it will just be /k/ themed teams. Each team will have a scarf design and the winner is the one we'll make a reality. So, if you really want a Rhodesian or Canadian or Outer Heaven team, or a /thg/, /meg/, /arg/ team, or classic /k/ copypasta team, or whatever, feel free to suggest one or a dozen. The Winter War will probably be in December, so we have plenty of time to get things square in terms of logos, uniforms, and sponsor stuff.

You can find both polls, some ideas on scarf designs, and a little more in-depth info here:

goo DOT gl/xLyL8p

Any questions, feel free to ask. You can also sign up for team newsletter on the first poll. Apologies again for not-weapons, but I wanted to get this out to as many /k/ users as I could.

He's not that off base, I'm definitely a bit out of line with the norm. It's just that the cup is how thousands of folks see /k/, so I like to try and keep things current to the board as best I can, instead just a handful of posters in cup threads.

I voted for it too. It might need some sort of mix or something to sound even better, but it's pretty /k/ imo.

Maybe just for BRRRRRTTTT (the player) when he scores, or for all goals...

I know Rhodie was the theme last time everyone voted, but I don't see how we can't change it up.

The SKS and Mosin were the very first scarves the team adopted. Those were funded out of my pocket and then donated to Nugget Enterprises to be paired with a special run of team patches. The response was so good that I made the SVT-40 and Garand design for the Ivan's, which became the next generation of team scarves. You can still buy those two, plus the Ivan's own LAW design at NE.

The rest are quite simply ideas at this point. The only one I can guarantee manufacture of is the one that wins the competition. So if there's a design you really want, the best bet is to get involved with a team that wants to fight for it. and help them win. Off the top of my head, a Vietnam themed team would be bretty gud for the pig, or maybe even a /k/ Punisher one, but that might be getting on the toes of /co/. At the very least just suggest it in the second poll, you never know.

>>31685349
That's actually bretty good for a trial, I appreciate the Admiral Togo reference as well.

An important thing when it comes to multiple kits is to make sure their visually distinctive from afar. That is to say, paying in mind hos someone might see them as a game spectator. The first camos I made for /k/ where Swedish M90 and Flektarn which, while very distinct to a /k/ommando, are pretty much just green from far away. This made it tough on other viewers when kit clashes happened with other teams.

A way around this is be following the real world example and have very different colors between kits and even different schemes to help break the similarity. For instance, tossing in a different environment camo into the mix or using a different base color very prominently.
>>
>>31687887
Yeah, I tried to use the Rhodie example that was posted and worked off of that somewhat.

By the time I got to the shorts, I got tired and just kinda slapped it together at that point.

But hey, it's not as hard as I thought. A few hours of basework and (if I really wanted to) another few hours of detailing.
>>
>>31687998
It's definitely something you pick up on. Then you fall into the depths of playing with textures and shading, kit logos and branding... Some folks in 4cc spend quite a long time on it, but their kits really do look amazing.

I'm pretty excited to see what the end list of teams will be, there's some fun ideas that may mean some unique kits.

Voting has been closed and the results are counted!

Rhodesians Never Die by Chem Tholet has held on to its title of Team Anthem. Just over half of all respondents gave it the go ahead over close competition from Cheeki Breeki/Bandit Radio and Fortunate "It Ain't Me" Son. A very spirited competition which almost saw the champ stumble on a slow start.

The Team Goalhorn voting was not even close. The sound of BRRRRRRT by the A-10 Warthog's GAU-8 has carried 80% of the vote, crushing all the competition in 30mm white-tipped tungsten gory glory. Ghost Division by Sabaton, the award winning goalhorn and standard since 2014, has officially relinquished its title.

In special note, Cheeki Breeki Hardbass will be given special status as a personal goalhorn, owing to the following results.

Official team roster is as follows, in order that the appeared on the ballot:

Stoppan Power
Slavshit
Assault Clips
Mike Vining
Moist Nugget
Navy Seal Pasta
Deagle Brand Deagle
Zergface
Muh 2nd Amendment
Ivan Chesnokov
is that a famas
Cosmoline
Operator
Obrez
BRRRRRRT
The Shoulder Thing That Goes Up
Glocknade
Eargesplitten Loudenboomer
Hickok45
McNiggerator
Cheeki Breeki
Based Ian
Oppenheimer

Zergface once again received the most support of all options, with 64% affirming him in his position as one of our Gold players.

Cheeki Breeki, the former /vg/ League player, has found a true home in /k/, receiving second most votes. He replaces Ivan Chesnokov as our second Gold player and will bring his unpredictable style to the team's offense.

Slavshit has maintained his status as a Silver player, owing to his dependability and wide respect by the /k/ supporter base.

Moist Nugget has lost his position as our second Silver player, falling in poll numbers slightly with his corresponding rise in price. He will likely maintain his Captainship however.

Players BRRRRT and Assault Clips have tied for the fourth and the final Silver slot. BRRRRT will likely get the tie break, because of music.
>>
>>31701414
Huh, pretty interesting.

What about uniforms? Did you want to get something up for that or use them for the Winter War stuff?
>>
>>31701414
Correction to last: A Magical Place has also made the team, I missed him on the roster. This creates an interesting situation. Please read on.

The last two positions are up for grabs by three players, who all received 37% of the vote. Newcomer Based Ian from Forgotten Weapons
and longtime player Operator and Stoppan Power. A decision will need to be made on breaking the tie, to be determined shortly. The veterans will probably get the nod due to existing registrations and aesthetics.

So, to reiterate, there are currently two ties on the board:

For Silver player status: Brrrrt vs Assault Clips

For the final two spots:

Based Ian vs Operator vs Stoppan Power

Will need to come to a decision shortly, so please vote now:

https://goo DOT gl/forms/eo2EhYuoshygyGTm1

I will close this poll at midnight EST. I apologize for the short duration, but this must be settled shortly.

>>31701792
Uniforms will probably be kept as they are for the moment, since there's not a lot of time to go through the full nomination and voting process, and then actually make a functioning aesthetic set before the deadline. This is an oversight on my part and I should have included them in the poll last week, but completely failed to think about them. My focus at this point has to be on technical specs like player stats, not aesthetics, it's just a little too much for one person to get organized this close to the deadline.
>>
>>31701414
out of curiosity, how many people suggested the BRRRRRRT goal horn?
>>
>>31702193
That particular choice was suggested by only one person. Only a handful of songs, like Fortunate Son, Rhodesians, Cheeki Breeki... were suggested multiple times. That anon was clearly tapped into the consciousness of /k/.

My only problem with the new horn is that there's no real music or anything. If you look at the rest of the 4CC goalhorns, they all are some sort of song, or remix. No other board has a sound effect as a horn.

I understand /k/ voted for it, but IMO it's sort of lacking. So here's what I'm proposing. I'd like to either crossfade the BRRRRRRRRRT into a song (i.e. fade it into the opening drums of Ghost Division, as an example) or incorporate the BRRRRRRRT into a song as an instrument. Assuming Miles is OK with it., I'd like to put up a vote on what should (or shouldn't) be done to the goalhorn.

http://www.strawpoll.me/11445796
>>
>>31702766
If anything else had even been close, it would be a lot easier to suggest such a thing. It's also culturally insensitive to those who identify sexually as A-10s to belittle the song of their people.

In an analytical sense, 80% of any number of /k/ agreeing on something is a miracle in itself. Meme or not, BRRRRRT as it was nominated and voted is the legitimate and clear victor by the numbers.

I won't stand here and claim some sort of holy reverence to it, but the voting mandate is a strong one. My recommendation would be to present something so awesome that /k/ can universally get behind it, but I see that as highly unlikely.
>>
>>31703161
Well, the video is only a few short clips of it firing, nothing else really.

Now if that anon could put that to some music to make it a bit more palpable to other watchers, then I don't see the harm. But the BRRRRTTTT has to be the centerpiece or it's a no-go.
>>
>>31703481
Probably reasonable

>>31702067
At the bell, we have Assault Clips claiming the Silver in a narrow victory over BRRRRT. Operator was cleanly beaten out by both Based Ian and Stoppan Power, leaving the final roster as:

Stoppan Power
Slavshit
Assault Clips
Mike Vining
Moist Nugget
Navy Seal Pasta
Deagle Brand Deagle
Zergface
Muh 2nd Amendment
Ivan Chesnokov
is that a famas

Obrez
BRRRRRRT
The Shoulder Thing That Goes Up
Glocknade
Eargesplitten Loudenboomer
Hickok45
McNiggerator
Cheeki Breeki
Based Ian
Oppenheimer
A Magical Place

The team thus has no brand new players, Based Ian and Oppenheimer, who hopefully have much to look forward to in their new careers as virtual soccer players.

A Magical Place and Glocknade have both fought their way back onto the team after a long departure. They may be old memes, but /k/ seems to believe they have some magic left.

For these four to enter, four now go.

Somewhat shockingly, Flammenwerfer and Operator, two long stalwarts of our defensive line are now gone. We'll put them on grounds maintenance around the pitch and have them keep tabs on the wire until if they should be called back.

Dugan Ashley has not made the cut, likely over concerns of his health.

Lastly, Ragnar the Legitimate has been dethroned, apparently having been given orders to some new mission.

We salute the fallen and hail the victors, here's to a strong Autumn campaign.

I didn't even know you could beat that game...

That particular clip is an awful general goalhorn though. A custom horn for BRRRRRT would make the most sense.
In the latest cup, people only really recognized /k/ by the ghost divison goalhorn.

As an aside, this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsZMbs5PC64 wouldn't be a bad custom goalhorn for Navy Seal Pasta (though his position makes him never score).

BRRRRRRT needs no song. It is the song of a big ass gun that had a plane built around it. It might not fit in within the theme, but fuck it. I have no problem with /k/ being represented by BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT.

I understand your view, but my concern is minimal for those who only know /k/ for a goal horn. My goal has to be to represent /k/ and barring a sudden change, it's looking quite clear how to do that. As you mentioned yourself, it's very hard for 77's to score at all, and BRRRRT just missed out on being a medal- I can't take a horn /k/ wants to hear and then put it solely on a player who has very little chance of scoring in the modern game.

We've had similar situations before- VDV was a much loved anthem in the cup and there were folks who didn't like Rhodesians because "No one but /k/ and /pol/ knows about them." Now we have hundreds of people saluting and honoring Rhodesia every time it's played- let them learn something new about us.

Take a though of >>31703481 and you may find some success. My only advice is to commit yourself to helping the team beyond saying "I dislike this" and actually presenting something, you will have infinitely more success.

If you glance at the image in >>31701414 you'll see Jawman was considered, but didn't receive near enough of a vote share to justify it. He'll have another chance the next time around though!

What about "I Wish I Had A Gun Like the A-10" by Dos Gringos?
>>
>>31706778
Technically a song about the F-16, but it's all about presentation. If you can make something that blows people out of the water, by all means go for it and give it a try. But, if it's not BRRRRT it's not going to fly.

After looking over the results of the Winter War poll, I believe I have a rough idea on teams. I essentially went through the suggestions to find unifying elements and themes and make them into common ideas. This should not be taken as final, but simply what I envision for now. It's possible we may have more of less depending on interest.

Essentially, we may have a 1 or 2 day tournament depending on final format, but I'd like to make sure each team gets at least two or three games, instead of being one and done after a lot of work to make it happen. This also helps in terms of the randomness that can sometimes happen with PES.

Prospective Teams:
/arg/- AR General, all things about everyone's favorite little black rifle.
/akg/- AK General, the right arm of slav world.
/brg/- Battle Rifle General, real fucking NATO and friends.
/thg/- Threadhead General, tanks, tanks, tanks.
/ak/- Anime /k/, weapons, grills, and all combinations thereof.
/wehr/- Wehraboos, with strong emphasis on WWII era German technology.
/slav/- Track suit operating. Some overlap with /akg/ but it should be okay.
/rli/- Rhodesian National Team, free and eternal.

If you have any interest helping with one of these teams, please send me an email and we'll get to business. Things like player names, uniforms, music, logos, scarf design, etc can all need to be worked on. I can't promise too much, but I'd definitely appreciate the help, especially for the generals. Alternatively, if you're willing to help with a different team, there may yet be a chance.

You'd be surprised what creativity can happen when an anon takes a challenge.

For instance, /jp/ once made their own vocaloid song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84fOsLdqDAM#

Completely weeb, but also completely them.

I have a feeling that /wehr/ would conflict with /pol/'s colors down the line.

Well, it's inter-team test matches, so it doesn't matter what the other teams do.

It's like /vg/ and all of their stuff. Each general itself has a team, and they duke them out for shits and giggles and maybe one really good player gets promoted to the big boy league.
>>
>>31709454
I'd like to propose an Aviation related team as well.
>>
>>31710059
Nah, /pol/ only uses the black Hugo Boss SS uniforms, besides their crusader kits. Plenty of room for feldgrau or one of the other winter/camo smocks. Hell an Africa Korps variant could be cool, though terribly out of place for winter.

Like lots and lots of planes? Or Top Gun but soccer?

Like I said, if you're willing to put in work with it, shoot me an email. You're a tad late to the party, but I'd definitely work with you if there's room.
>>
>>31710971
Well there's not a general but it's pretty clear that the aviation threads generally attract the same people. It's basically /thg/ without the general.

Not sure how much work would be required, and I'm pretty incapable, just a suggestion since I think there's a decent sized group that focuses mainly on planes and shieet. If you decide to add any teams keep it in mind.
>>
>>31711035
I definitely get the feeling, just didn't know if you had another specific theme you were going for. I'll definitely keep it in mind, but I'm not likely to add more teams without more help.
>>
>>31711110
Alright, can't help you besides player names and music themes.

Look forward to the games, hopefully we get a large turnout for the Autumn Cup.
>>
>>31711185
Hell, that's not a bad start. It's certainly more fun than me just making up the teams. The more board involvement, the better.
