Are you guys stocking up on ammo before the election?
Not like hurr she gunna take our guns we got to fight back.
But because you know tons of others will be saying that and buying as much as they can. Get it now while its cheap?

Serious talk guys, no go away mr atf i love my doggo
>>
I would. Just so I can play all day with my Christmas fun but I'm a poorfag
>>
Trying to stock up on cheap primers but most are already gone... I only have like 2500 small rifle primers left...
>>
>>31658610
I sit on enough ammo to not have to worry about price spikes due to the political climate. I don't want idiots panic buying to dictate whether I go plinking or not.
>>
>>31658610
More like get it after the election when the bumrush is over.
Pre-election is when the merchants spike prices to sell merchandise for 200%.

Don't be a fucking moron
>>
>>31658610
nope ive already bought all my ammo and guns before all this crazyness.

Every time, Every single time there is a firearm scare. The price of almost everything jumps up and then comes back down to a new normal high.
Why cant price be the way they were 10 years ago?
>>
>>31658639
You say that, but Palmetto State Armory just, JUST had a sale on good quality (Federal) .22lr boxes for cheaper than I've seen it since 2013, at a hair under 7.5 cents/round shipped. That's cheaper than I've seen any .22lr other than absolute garbage-tier Remington Thunderbolts.

I've also seen other great prices on quite a few items like AR-15 BCGs, even if other things like AR-15 lowers are overpriced and sold out even so.
>>
If you idiots are buying loaded ammo you are doing it wrong. Loading your own saves you a ton of money. If you reload brass you've already loaded you save even more. Right now I can load 5.56 with range brass for about $160-$170/k. A little less if I buy larger quantities like hornady 6k box of projectiles and powder in 8lb kegs instead of single pounds.

If I were going to stock up on anything it would be magazines but I already have plenty of those so that would pointless.

MFW they ban anything over 10 rounds and the 1911 becomes the most popular handgun in the country again.
>>
>>31658610
i keep putting off my 357 ammo purchase.

whats a good general purpose round for 357 anons?
no grizzlies here, no hunten, just revolver and lever action.
>>
>>31658710
I'd be interested in reloading but the up front cost keeps scaring me off, it will take thousands and thousands of rounds for me to break even again, which seems like a lot of time I could be shooting.

>>31658723
sauce?
>>
for you precision rifle guys how mun ammo do you feel comfortable with? hundreds? thousands?

I think I would be comfortable with about 400
>>
>>31658636
This is what I need to do, and get some SKS food because I only have about 250 rounds left.
>>
>>31658723
>MFW they ban anything over 10 rounds and the 1911 becomes the most popular handgun in the country again.
Yeah good luck making free staters roll over and accept that like the cucks on the coasts do.
>>
>>31658752
focus on stripper clips too. Good ones.
>>
>>31658639
>>31658639

>dont be a fucking moron

ammo prices right now are the lowest they have been in years, aside from the drying-up surplus, and that is obama's fault.

What's your problem again?
>>
>>31658664
We're not talking about .22. That'll be around til Armageddon. We're talking anything .223 and up, muh "salt rifle rounds".
>>
>>31658760
You're dumb and know nothing about business.
>>
>>31658759
Yeah I have about 10 good ones and about 20 mediocre ones that don't feed my Type 56 worth a shit but feed my Yugo just fine.
>>
>>31658760
I really thought by mid august teh panic would hit.

Prices are really low.

Did the 8 - 10 panics before really tap everyone out? market saturation?

In all honesty I am decent but im guessing this drought will at least last til march ?

>>
>>31658710
how many unpaid hours do you labor to produce 1000rds of 5.56?

I earn $45/hr at my job, and I work 48 or 60 hrs/week.

It would be a total waste of my time to load 5.56 just to plink with.

I buy stock as much factory ammo as I can, I also do handloading, but not for saving money, for making fun/special purpose loads in 44mag, .308 etc.

Perhaps you, my friend, are the idiot.
>>
>>31658761
Wolf Gold is 30 cents a round right now and that's the same price it's been for about a year. Since 2013 the lowest I've seen it is 27 cents a round but the ATF green tip ban threat spiked it back up to 30 cents a round and it's never gotten back below that. It hasn't climbed for the election.

The only thing I've seen that's climbed for the election are AR-15 lowers and certain completed AR-15 builds, namely the Colt 6920--but part of THAT is the big overstock of them, when prices were down around $800 for one, got all sold off in spring of 2015, and their price has slowly increased from there.
>>
>>31658798
>>31658798
well anon there you go.

Focus on primers and powder if you have the brass already.
>>
>>31658798
>$45/hr

Doing IT is so satisfying when I see my $100+/hr rate (no college degree even). It would be more satisfying if it was consistent hours so I could just sock away money, but it's also nice to only have to work a part of the day.
>>
>>31658798
Not the guy you replied to, but what keeps me reloading is simply the fact that I enjoy it.
>>
>>31658636
I feel your pain.

I am down to 10,000 cci 400 and 5000 wsp

Also i only have 24lbs of varget left.
>>
>>31658610
I've essentially stopped shooting because I'm saving my stock. I used to stock a lot because I used to shoot a lot. Now, not so much.

I just know the SJWs are going to become over-empowered if Hillary wins and we're going to see some real leftist authoritarianism which is going to get down-right nasty.

>>
>>31658876
how about you buy some ammo to shoot and only shoot half of it? adds up in the long run.
>>
>>31658954
Much better is just buying once in sufficient bulk, saves your wallet a lot of money in the long run.

Only people who can't manage their budgets have to do the "box of ammo every trip to WalMart" method.

>>
>>31658746
Up front cost really isn't bad. ROI depends on caliber but some are much faster. Sure, 9MM will take a long time. Center fire rifle is much faster.
Look at Lee and Frankford Arsenal for good, cheap stuff.
I paid for my press in about $500 rounds of 300blk subs.
>>
>>31659092
500, not $500...
>>
>>31659036

45×40=1800
67.5 (time+half) x 14 (avg ot hrs)=945
$2745/wk

So its about $140k/yr. Thats over 3x the median household income in my state. And fuck unions.
>>
>>31658610
I'm guessing that Obama is going to put a tax on ammo as an executive order or something similar as he leaves office. If hillary wins we will most likely head down the gun confiscation route.

Most likely a millennial, eh. College dropout here, too. Plan B was IT and from '03-'08 only worked three to four months a year on a couple/several choice contracts. Freelancer FTW! Freelancer FML 8/ Consistency a shit. Feast or famine with that beast. Now that life is in the rear view and 70-80hrs/wk is my grind. So satisfying when I see my name as only officer on articles of incorp. 8D

No worries about 30cpr 556 or $1-2/rd 300aac or 70cpr ra45t or well you... Could double and wouldn't change a thing in myville. Keep on keepin on cowboy

I said how much ammo you got? Are you comfy with that? And can your budget tolerate the price spike coming round the mountain or will you be inhaling ramen noodles when you get chimped on and have to resort to tossing your scalding hot msg broth on your assailants face in hopes that stunts the attack?
>>
>>31658965
I disagree. Back when Winchester 7.62x51 was $12.99, and 7.62x39 was $3.99 a box (pre-sandy panic) I used to go in and buy two to three boxes of .308 and $20 worth of x39 every pay check just on principle. You build up a lot of ammo that way.

Shit, I made more from the x39 than I did from selling the AK. Had over 2000 rounds.
>>
>>31659559
>Most likely a millennial, eh.
Bitch, please. No.

>So satisfying when I see my name as only officer on articles of incorp.
I hear you there. Owning your own biz is the way to go, the red tape and paperwork sucked but it was worth it in the end.
>>
>>31660067
And it would have cost you less to buy it all if you'd ordered those 2000 rounds in one big box.
>>
>>31660184
You probably have a point there. Even with shipping, which I always over-estimate it might have been cheaper.
>>
>>31660220
I find that not having to pay tax makes up for the shipping, it's a pretty even wash that way.
>>

Yes, 30-06 good for many things
Pros
- Hunting large animals.
- Long-ish distances shooting.
- Has stop power vs car engines.
- Fairly common round.

Cons
- Big and heavy
- Recoil
