Going though and doing some seriously needed cleaned on my grandfather's stash.
Will be asking basic appraisals, cleaning and general advice and titbits.

why does everyone on /k/ but me have a grandfather with an arsenal that died recently.
>>31650946
What markings are on the barrel? Very early CVA Mountain Rifles had Douglas made-in-the-good-ol-US-of-A barrels. Pic related Douglas barreled kit.
>>31651696
It was nearly two years ago. Just found the time to clean and organize. They will continue being stored at the farm. These are mine.
Big fan of the Savage 99 actions.
When was it made?

Oh, and don't try to disassemble, its real easy to screw up that rotary magazine
>>31652000
Why not take them home, you'll keep them safer with someone who'll apprevite them
>>31651696
My one grandfather isn't dead yet, but he has a massive arsenal and a very trashy, house. I'm talking piles of newpapers from 1970 and such.
It will take ages and a lot of hard work to go through it all, both the guns and everything else.
>>31651696
You are not alone, but thats because I am an oldfag.
My grandfather was a resident alien in Michigan during the Fist World War, registered for the draft but was never called. Too old for WWII.
Po-po confiscated his revolver during the Great Depression when he shot a rooster that kept waking him up. Found out it was a Colt Police Positive Special. He replaced it with a Spanish break-open in .32-20 that went to his youngest son, whose wife sold it.
My Dad was old enough to be in WWII, his bring-back was a single-shot French rifle. Bro-in-law has it now.
Finally finished, will post odds and ends pictures, here grandpa's ammo collection.

They are appreciated, my mother just rarely has the time, and is still learning more about guns.
>>31652942
Mysterious plastic shotshell!
>>31654888
>>31654888
Not that mysterious.
Less metal to save on costs. There is a ring of steel in the base for the extractor.
They were popular in the 80's if i remember right then the company folded. Still find bags of hulls for sale at auctions.

>>mfw my stupid fucking very nice and loving grandma but retarded as shit gave ALL my grandfathers Gen 1 Glocks (8x) and rifles to my uncle in Alaska who already owned guns and never told any of my other uncles or aunts (9 altogether). I still think about that shit...those are family heirlooms!
So don't worry bro. I had to teach myself how to shoot as an adult and bought my guns on my own.
>>mfw my first gun I ever shot since I was 11 was an SLR107.
>>mfw I realized how fucking stupid /k/ is about recoil
>>mfw I bumpfired my ak on my first session shooting and alone innaswa for that matter
My dad can go to hell. He grew up in Wisconsin shooting deer and waterfowl his whole life and never took him shooting. I actually ended up rekindling his love for firearms with my AKM.
>>31652942
The fuck is that blue shotshell? pic related?
>>31655028

>>31655086
Always wanted a KS-23, but there's no hope of ever getting one. Plus feeding it would be a huge pain.
>>31655086
>>31655031
Intradasting. Here.
>>31655031
Looks like an 8 gauge.
>>31655109
You can buy a civvie version called the TOZ-123, a small handful of them were imported before the Clinton era trade bans.
They go for about $1,500 due to their relative obscurity and the fact that 4 gauge (even European 4 gauge) is a scary scary thing.
>>31654926
Cool.
>>31650089
That savage you posted is a pretty rare rifle, there is one for sale on CGN right now for $850, they look pretty neat, your lucky you own one!
>>31650314
Looks like a BSA model 12, though the forestock looks different from the pics I find.
BTW, OP. If there are any that you don't plan on keeping, I can look them up in the blue book for you.
