Slight derailment question. I've been thinking about getting a CZ527 for my little sister, so she can have a good centerfire range rifle. She's hit the point where she's outshooting her old .22 (and just kicking ass in general), but she's uncomfortable with my full-caliber rifles like my Enfields. I want to get something with irons, but might mount an optic down the road.
Am I stupid? Also, would .223 or 7.62x39 be a more pleasant cartridge to shoot (both in recoil and muzzle blast)?

The CZ 527 is an awesome rifle in general. I like them personally in 7.62x39 but .223 might be the better caliber for her. They come with single set triggers just like my 550 above and ill tell you that it is a killer trigger out of the box.

Don't bother with the shitty CZ factory rings, their rifles are great but they out-source their rings to Pavel's Cut Rate Machine Shop and they're shit.

I've got Alaska Arms quick-detach rings on my CZ 550 American (>>31655945) and they're beautifully made by a mom & pop operation, with mom running the phones and dad making the rings.

My response is incredibly mature, you're the one typing in all caps the whole "stop liking what I don't like" attitude. You're in a CZ thread filled with people who probably range from casual supporters of the brand to downright fanboys, and the post that started this conversation did in fact have a picture from the anime Gunsmith Cats, and due to this also being an anime image board (debatably) further goes with the idea the poster (probably you) in question probably was inspired to get the gun through its portrayal in the anime and the fetishism of its shape that goes around on this board, it's not a hard connection to make, it's staring you in the face but your denial of it shows it to be an inconvenient truth showing that you have no idea why its a good handgun other than what has already been stated and you're either too lazy or weak minded to engage in any kind of critical thinking that could list any actual cons.

Unless we're talking their high end or custom line, a lot of cz 75's have unfinished internals and tool marks. The functionality, durability, and reliability are all good barring exceptions.

Cons: finish on the inside of rails will slowly wear off, But thats by design.
Tiny tooling mark on the inside of the slide.
The slide can be awkward to pullback for the first few range trips
