Sig sp2022 shit or not?

I've got one of the German, non-proofed ilfalon coated SP2022s (basically French police contract pistols) that were coming in country a few years back. Not the best thing ever invented, but accurate, reliable as anything could hope to be.

No idea how it compares to the US made SP2022s.

I had a buddy that bought one years ago, I shot it once and it seemed overall to be like a glock to me. Accurate enough, didn't feel really bad or good, decent across the board. They'd make a good gun for the boat or car.

I have one, along with a Glock 19, 20, a couple makarovs and a few other oddments. I find the the recoil to be a bit snappier compared to the 19 but otherwise it compares quite favorable.

They're great. Don't listen to the p226 fags because the 2022 has the benefit of weighing 4 oz lighter. That's a big deal when you're carrying a firearm.

However, I would say that if weight is the reason to go for the sp2022 rather than the p226 then look into the FNX9 a little bit. They're the same price as a sp2022, carry 17 rounds rather than 15 of the Sig, and weigh 21 oz...... Yes, you read that right. The FNX9 weighs 5 oz less than the sp2022.

Sp2022 is a fantastic first gun, you're paying a polymer price on a gun that has the exact same innards as a 226, which you would find for around 1000+.

My father's buddy brought his SP2022 when we went out shooting once. I got to put a few rounds through it. Was pretty nice. Dad's friend said he got it a while back and he's loved it ever since.

I've tried carrying a 2022 concealed and stopped. It's pretty bulky for 15 rounds, and pretty heavy for polymer.

No complaints with the function of the gun, though.

Far more rugged, cheaper, and feels a hell of a lot better in hand than a fucking glock

I got one back when they first showed up on the market and really like it. It's nothing super unique for a Sig but I've never had any issues with it whatsoever and field stripping is a breeze.
I also like the combat sights.
