Anyone got those brilliant first aid guides?

There were some on gunshot wounds, explosive trauma, blunt force trauma, hypo/hyperthermia (with two black gents snuggling) and one on creating a first aid kit.

Cheers!

Lack the guides, but I am an EMT-B and EMT-T, so I can answer questions I guess.
>>
>>31640646
What happens to someone when they get hurt, do they die?

>>31640646
I'm a prior grunt that's taken combat lifesaver courses like 3 times. I'll answer your questions and be bitched at by others who know more.

Just wondering what I should put in my new kit. Got some israeli bandages, gauze bandages, plasters, nurse shears, mouthguard for CPR, Saline and saline wipes, vinyl gloves, tape, triangle bandages etc.

It's a smallish grab kit.

Please for the love of all things holy don't put a tampon in anything other than a vagina. Christ I hate that it gets perpetuated over and over again. Trauma bandage and tampons have nothing in common, and tampons cause more bleed due to causing a rapid fluid shift into the tampon. This causes a breaking of natural clotting factors in place making it worse. All in all just invest in trauma bandages they are cheap and will actually stop bleeding. I get so pissy when Pedro homie does a homie drop off and he has a tampon stuck in his thigh. This rant has made me feel better. Blog over.

Yes. Every single time.

>>31640722
CLS is, from my understanding, very similar to the TCCC course I've taken. Pretty damned useful.

>>31640826
That's a pretty good start, but I highly suggest learning how to use everything before you pack it.

As far as the CPR mouthguard goes - Traumatic arrests have a less than 1% survival rate. You might as well take it out if I'm being honest. If it's just a small mask, then it doesn't hurt to keep for medical reasons but you're probably not gonna get a TA back.

My IFAK is an israeli bandage, vaseline gauze, 2 tourniquets, shears, gloves, cravats and 4x4 dressings.

My car bag/go bag is that scaled up, basically.

Add a tourniquet to yours.
>>
>>31640826
Ditch nurses sheers cause they don't cut shit but these :

>>
>>31640901
I mean, my trauma shears (Nurse shears, paramedic scissors, whatever you want to call them) cut through denim, leather, boots...You name it.
>>
>>31640826
Sounds like you got a shit ton of bandaids. I'm the gruntfag but I can tell you get a tourniquet and learn how to use it.

Fuck the mouthpiece, just stick one of your bazillion gauzes in his mouth.
>>
>>31640885
Agree no reason to work a traumatic arrest unless it's cause is easily solvable and there is access to a surgical trauma and TICU afterwards.

If these are the sheers they are garbage. The ones I linked are vastly superior. >>31640914

>fucking this
People are dumb as shit.

Also, is rubbing dirt in a wound smart if there are no other sources? When I was a kid my uncle did that when I sliced the fuck outta my leg when we went hunting because we didn't want to go home early.

It wasn't that bad of a scratch, and it never got infected because I cleaned it up nicely when we got home.

A milfag trip named AridZone did these for us a few years back. Dunno if they're the ones OP is looking for, but they're still a good guide for the rest of us.

For what? I mean, dirt contains microbes and if you're not going to have access to proper sterilization and treatment, it might not be the best idea. But if it's a small laceration, I can't see it doing any more -harm- in the short term? It might help clotting a little bit.
>>
>>31640969
I would speak against it. What your trying to do with any bleeding is slow it to a point so clotting factors can act. Direct pressure with anything including skin to skin holding it with your hand will work. The dirt thing is fuddlore my gramps used to do it to me too haha.

Great flow charts, but i would like to stress in the end if there isn't a care faculty for long term care of the wound or injury sustained your screwed in the long run. "Innawoods medicine" is a joke and preppers are misguided.
>>
>>31640885
Yeah, I can't speak to that. CLS is a 3 day crash course. As you know, it's not about healing someone, it's stabilizing them.

The hardest part of course is fireman carrying someone. Makes me wonder what an EMT who has to move a 300 pound fatass has to deal with. That's gotta suck haha.

Also I fucking hate sticking veins for an IV. I hate it. I don't mind blood, but I hate needles.
>>
>>31641084
Bariatric calls usually run like this 2x 2 man crews, a double wide gurney to flop the bastard on to, and using an electric winch with ramps to Get then into the truck. If you are obese no one in medicine cares about you and treats you like shit. They are the largest causes of injury to healthcare providers. If you don't care enough to take care of yourself, why would we care about you?
>>
>>31641083
That's what he continually told us -- that all of this was to buy time until you got hospitalized.
>>
>>31641127
You guys got cranes for fatties? Kek.

My stepmom is a doctor and she is pissed off at fat people simply for the reason they are a burden on healthcare.

Needs to be the right kind of soil, clay loam is the only real choice so it doesn't allow for other things to in the wound, while still allowing it to drain naturally.

Still clean and treat ASAP
