Since my State is about to become full commie I'm hopping into the NFA game. Which 9mm SBR would you choose? CZ Scorpion or a Colt SMG? Anyone out there who owns an SBR CZ or CZ rifle?
>>
>>31632852
I prefer the CZ for /aesthetic/s
The Colt probably works better from what I've heard though

Got my tax stamp in for my CZ recently, I'm having fun with it. Biggest downside ive heard for 9mm AR's is that you get a lot of gas in the face when suppressed, otherwise it's all about preference, but any AR is gonna have more aftermarket support. I will say that the stock trigger on the scorpion is too heavy (10 lb), but $50 trigger kit brings it down to 4 lb.

The Scorpion is pretty reliable. Also it's direct blowback so much better for suppressors

Mine's in FDE
>>
>>31633202
I got an evo and currently waiting on the stamp. How are you liking the height of that red dot? I wasnt sure what height would be good. an (AR15) lower 1/3 or absolute co-witness, or no riser.

Mmmm...I like any more photos? I figure if I register an AR lower I can make it 9mm/5.56 as willed but the CZ really intrigues me.
>>
>>31633232
I used the low riser that came with the red dot, gives 1/3 cowitness, get my face up to a comfortable position, but I'm sure absolute would be fine too, just means getting a deeper cheek weld

Between those two options, CZ. The AR 9mm works ok but it was never intended to be a direct blowback 9mm. They have a habit of egging out trigger group pin holes and breaking bolt hold opens. I have one and omitting the bolt hold open and using KNS anti-rotation pins mitigates most of the risk but the CZ does everything better.

>>31633206

Blowback is worse for suppressors. Locked breach or delayed lock is quieter.
>>
>>31633255
How does that work with having only the lower registered? Its a good sounding idea, but I know if I change the barrel length on mine, I'm supposed to update the aft by letter. So how does that work with a rifle that can swap uppers and calibers?
>>
>>31633331
Oh yeah lol but I mean compared to the AR pistol
>>
>>31633331
Maybe sound wise you see a difference, but I'd take couple decibels difference over getting a spray of gas in the face every shot

The configuration you list on your Form 1 needs to be the "primary" configuration. You can temporarily swap uppers with no issues. Pic related is papered as a 10.5 inch 5.56 but I swapped to a 9mm upper on occasion.
>>
>>31633384
Beautiful. I ideally plan to have a CZ SBR, and a "Colt" SMG and Commando.

Only $600 so fuck it right?

Blowback throws more junk back too. You're thinking gas operated rifles. Something like an MP5 with a delayed blowback is quieter and throws less junk. I will say I've never had issues with stuff being thrown at me with any of my pistol caliber SBRs, though the AR 9mm and Evo to throw crud sideways out the ejection port.
>>
>>31633384
So just swap it back to its official configuration when your storing it? At least that's easy to do with AR's
>>
>>31633441

Yup pretty much. There's guys that have one SBR AR lower and swap between dedicated .22, 9mm, 5.56, and .300blk short barrel uppers. ARs are like legos, it's great.
>>
>>31633433
Thanks. I go shooting twice a year, I just want safe queens.

So should I buy a CZ pistol or their new rifle to make an SBR since "922R"

As far as gas blowback, I've seen and heard different results from different people. When MAC compared the CZ and MPX, he experienced a lot of gas in the face with the MPX, but other reviewers don't have any issues.

What's that pistol grip on your evo?

Could get a pistol and put on GB industries new handguard. Fits up to 1.5" wide suppressors

The MPX is gas operated like a conventional rifle so that's sort of expected. AR15s in 5.56mm do it with suppressors too. I think the AR charging handle plays a role as well, having an opening pointed right at your face.

The pistol grip on mine is a YetiWurks Matterhorn.
>>
>>31633560
Whelp, thanks for confirming my purchase. Guess I need to research cans now.
>>
>>31633560
>>31633664

Do yourselves a favor and get a Shooters Element trigger. The CZ Evo stock trigger is meh, that replacement is sex though. Double taps fast enough people will think you have a burst setting.
>>
>>31632852
Went with a scorpion evo for my form 1, mostly because I'm planning on customizing it into a stormtrooper/starwars esq theme. Maybe boba fett paintjob... may paint the imperial logo onto the mags or something key worthy."Han dies in the end" or "9mm blaster bolter"
>>
>>31633433
How is the sliding stock? It looks uncomfortable
>>
>>31634268
Pls no
It's a gun, not a toy
Don't be a manchild
>>
>>31632852
Get a 9mm AR lower that takes glock mags.
>>
>>31634301

The factory side folder is far far more comfortable. The slider looks cool and makes it very compact but yeah, it ain't comfy.
>>
Just picked up my cz today.

Shooting it was .... a mixed bad as a pistol.

The rails are sharp. But some rail covers fixed that.

It is very accurate.

It needs to be sbr'd. Or else just buy the carbine.

Also. The safety selectors need to be changed out for the sake of your hand.

Im going with the 2 ak type one long one short.
>>
Lange also makes evo and mcx stocks and adapters. In left and right folding. And with more or less angle.
>>
>>31634896

A nicer pistol grip also solves the issue with the selector levers digging in. The stock grip really pushes your hand way high.

At least if you missed in a home defense situation you'd both be incapacitated on the floor with ruptured ear drums
>>
>>31633687
Your right about the factory trigger being crap. I have HB industries replacement trigger and spring kit on it now and it's a massive improvement. I have no idea why a 10 lb trigger was the decision from the factory
>>
>>31634896
There a couple groups coming out with replacement handguards, I posted the hb industries one earlier, the other option is from manticore arms pic related

Other than getting ratted out and getting v&, literally how would you ever get in trouble for having an non stamped sbr with a suppressor that isn't actually pinned and welded?

It's not like a range is going to tackle you and call the cops, normies and other shooters wouldn't ever think to notice

what's the deal
>>
>>31633507
Honestly, the majority of other people can't afford to buy both, or even have access to both, so they'd make a video telling you it also does their taxes for them if it makes them feel better that they made the right decision
>>
>>31637399
Off duty cop could ask to see your paperwork at the range and bust you if you don't have them. It's apparently happened before.
