So I installed a UTG AK side mount but whenever I zero the rifle with my optic and take the rail off it loses its zero.
I think its the side plate I installed by UTG (pic related) because it doesn't have an over travel stop.
Any way I can fix this or am I being retarded somehow, thanks.
>buying anything from utg
>fucking ever
pic of other style of side plate that limits over travel (I think)
>>31630524
Can I take it out and put a real one in or am i gonna make my AK into swiss cheese?
>>31630496
>remove optic
>stick optic back on
>wonder why optic is off
You are being retarded somehow.
>>31630638
Im removing the side rail with the optic on it.
It shouldn't change the zero.

>>31630666
Super special nice rail designed to go back to zero, sure.
UTG shit rail, or even semi-decent rails, hell no.
>>31630666
>It shouldn't change the zero.
Anon no, that requires very specially engineered, self centering bullshit and all sorts of other things.
>>31630691
but in the video it holds zero perfectly.
>>31630716
>a video of a FUCKING RAIL that costs more than $100
>clearly any rail can do this
>>31630800
I dont care about the rail what I care about is the side mount that is on the AK. I can get the $100 rail but I dont know if my side mount will fit it or not because it is a different type.
>>31630822
The side mount is part of the zero-holding ability
>>31630868
Yeah I know but mine isn't holding zero at all with the UTG side plate when other plates seam to do the job.
>>31630941
so maybe the cheap UTG plate is the problem
>>31630941
>get expensive side plate
>get expensive rail
>get expensive optic
Maybe it will re-mount with the same zero.
Or continue on like literally any military ever and don't remove your optic after it's zeroed.
>>31630957
That's what I was thinking but should I re drill and tap my receiver for a new side plate or just do a gas tube mount for the red dot?
>>31630979
Personally I'd probably just go with the midwest red dot mount
>>31630666
Well what fucking rail and scope are you using.
>>31631008
Im using a Barska 1-4x28 scope and a Midwest Industries quick detach rail.
>>31631064
>fucking BARSKA
GIVE UP ANON YOU ARE TOO POOR FOR THE RETAINING ZERO DREAM
>>31631080
fucking shit I figured as much kek.
I can still return it I might do that actually and get a good red dot and mount.
>>31631064
>UTG
>barska
Please tell me you're mounting this on an IO or century built AK and we can complete the trifecta of shit.
>>31631189
It's on an AMD 63 (plz no bully)
>expecting slavshit to do anything better than Minute of Barn
Why are there so many commie-boos on /k/? Why do they think cheap ass guns designed y retarded dirt farmers who never even finished high school are the epitome of weapons design? American firearms are made of space age metals on computer controlled CNC machines and designed by people with masters degrees in mechanical engineering.
People like OP drop $400 on some slavshit and $200 on slavshit glass made by some dumbass bulgarian who can barely read and expects to to shoot like a $3,500 AR with Leupold optics.
>>31630666
Depends how your tolerance is. I have one for my vz58 made by CSA and it holds zero every time.
>>31631629
I think its because the UTG side plate isn't squared off at the end so it isn't getting a consistent hold on the mount but idk.
>>31631461
>designed y retarded dirt farmers who never even finished high school
>to to shoot
It's not just them who haven't finished high school....
>>31631461
>American firearms
It's funny because our own special forces are repeatedly selecting foreign designs over their "American" counterparts.
Meanwhile you have NATO countries adopting every rifle under the sun except the M16 as their service rifle.
>>31631912
>reading this post in American on an American image board
>still denies American Exceptionalism
>>31631928
And without the M16, none of those shitty euro clone rifles would exist. The reach of the M16 is either farther than you care to admit, or farther than you actually know little dude.
