So what's wrong with the new Flankers?
>>31623082
35's? Not much, they've pretty much made it to F18C/D level. Which for a Russian fighter isn't bad.
But the 33, 27, and 30 still have plenty of problems.
the 34 is pretty great
>>31623082
THey're Russians, which makes them not as good as Swedish or CHinese planes. And the should be rivets and bad welds, typical of Russians.
Apart from a fact that they are 15 years too late - not much.
If you like airplanes, than this documentary is definitely an interesting watch.
It's got a little russian propaganda, but very good, nonetheless. It definitely changed my impressions of Russian aviation.

I think there is a higher quality one somewhere.
>>31623082
Already outclassed by F-15Es with APG-82s, F100-PW-229s and Sniper ATP-SEs.
>>31623082
>F18C/D level
How are they comparable to mid-1980s fighters?
Qualify your statements with something.
>>31623266
Guy before you said they're basically on par with F-18Cs from the early 80s.
So the F-15E with APG-82 and new engines is just as bad as a legacy Hornet?
>>31623378
Who cares what the other guy said; the Su-35 is a heavy fighter with a good PESA, but APG-82 > Irbis-E and Sniper XR ATP-SE / Legion > OLS-35.
>>31623082
Still a Flanker.
>>31623082
Made in russia.
>>31623266
there's not that many fitted out like that.
there's not that many Su-35s either so that kinda evens it out.
>>31625058
>there's not that many fitted out like that.
Yeah, but there's also 187 F-22 and ~200 F-35 now.
MiG-29 is more sexy
>>31625185
>and ~20 F-35
Ftfy.
>>31623082
Nothing. Like there isn't nothing wrong with upgraded F-15s
>>31625667
Try again, idiot.
>>31625228
And has the range of a folded paper airplane.
They decided to go with the black/blue pattern which is ugly as sin.
>>31625698
Doesn't matter since they'll all just crash anyways.
>>31623228
I like the statically unstable discussion - where the aerodynamic center of lift is in front of the center of gravity. I'm curious how different this is with the F-16 or F-15.
>>31625843
Most, if not all, modern jet fighters are tail heavy. It increases maneuverability at the expense of stability, which is no problem with FBW.
>>31625840
>Zero crash record after 15 years
>First program to ever have that good of a record
Keep fucking trying, dipshit.
>>31625698
Why would I if you didn't even try?
>>31625803
Maybe, if you are talking about 9.12 or something alike.
>>31625806
You know this is a photoshopped picture and the pantjob of this prototype is actually yellow/brown/green in real life, right?
http://russianplanes.net/id132270
Besides, light blue Su-35S are sexy as fuck.

>Stuka in the background
u wot m8
>>31623387
Why didn't you correct him? He's the first post down.
>>31623387
>APG-82 > Irbis-E
Lol.

Here's a link to more pics, but for whatever reason it doesn't work anymore.

Oh wait, silly me, there's G in the end.

Lacked development due to financial collapse.
>>31626708
He said Flankers, not Fulcrums.
>>31626511
>Why would I if you didn't even try?
>Trollposting bullshit lies about the F-35
I'm telling you to try again, your bullshit's tired.
>>31626732
>Trollposting bullshit lies about the F-35
That would be saying that there are around 200 F-35 in service.
>>31626511
>You know this is a photoshopped picture and the pantjob of this prototype is actually yellow/brown/green in real life, right?
So? Is OP's pic a photoshop too?
>>31626764
No, 902 is indeed painted like that. But these are prototypes, while serial Su-35S are either plain dark grey or light blue. So they didn't really go with the particular black/blue pattern you are specifically referring to.

>>31626754
Built and deployed to Squadrons doesn't count? Because there's a lot more than 20. There's already 11 squadrons equipped with it.

They are built by grimy, Slav hands
