well the ship is alright but two ASHM were fired at it. https://www.rt.com/news/362194-us-ship-yemen-missile-attack/
would seem that it was the houthi rebels , who previously hit a Saudi Arabian naval vessel. http://www.defconwarningsystem.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6805&p=62562#p62562
What are the reprecussions going to be

I honestly don't know probably increased support for Saudi Arabia, in Yemen..

Immediate delivery of counter freedom.

Why are you posting a forum thread?
Anyways according to CNN "onboard defensive countermeasures" were used and the ship was in international waters.
http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/10/politics/yemen-us-navy-targeted/
And according to ABC the missiles were only fired in the general direction of the ship and they don't know if they were an actual target or not.

Most likely the missiles never actually detected the ship (maybe they were jammed?) and they just splashed down into the water without a target.
What kind of AshM?

Probably a C-802.
And more news.

>Though the American warship wasn't struck, the ship was definitely targeted, a U.S. defense official told Fox News.
>"In the first instance USS Mason employed onboard defensive measures, although it is unclear whether this led to the missile striking the water or whether it would have struck the water anyway," a defense official told Fox News.
So they pretty certainly attempted jamming, though they don't know if it mattered or not.

If it was confirmed that jamming was done it means that whatever export missiles houthis have can't touch a US destroyer without the missiles being burned with EW.
This is certainly going into the history books.
>>31622750
That's not surprising, EW is a warship's first line of defense.
>>31622750
Makes me wonder if the Russians, Chinese or Iranians had any assets nearby to suck up 'trons while this was going on. Actual hard data on USN EW response in a combat situation has to be vanishingly rare for them, as careful as the US is about EW dissemination on all platforms.

Just yesterday someone posted a pic of a Chinese ship chilling out just close enough to shore for a grainy pic, whilst I think that particular example was taken in the Med they definitely have assets in the general area for exactly this sort of opportune snooping.
