It's good but relatively unknown. I have the PPQ with the paddle release. love it. very little aftermarket but it has enough I suppose. you can get sights, you can get holsters (much harder than glock), and I guess that's all you need. the trigger is great out of the box.

The steyr has a funky grip angle that I don't like, messes with point shooting and makes it difficult to cross train on multiple guns. It's a shame because the Steyr has so much going for it, strong barrel, fully supported chamber, really precise rails, cool weirdo sights that work... such a neat gun. I've almost bought one like 3 times but that grip angle though, can't do it.

The PPQ feels kind of cheap to hold relative to the glock which is hard to explain unless you've shot and fucked around with both which I have. The PPQ is a better though, better trigger, better sights, better grip shape... better gun.

It's an excellent pistol that falls into the same category as a Styer M9-A1. Solid ergos, good barrels and precision from the factory, solid trigger, good sights, good controls, simple design... But will never be as defining a force in the market as Glock because Glock got to the niche first and accordingly swims in a sea of third party support that just won't show up for less established peers.

I shot a few magazines through one, the trigger is excellent, sights were alright (though the 3 dot design and lack of aftermarket support sucks), and the grip surface is also solid but the bore axis and grip angle make its muzzle flip more pronounced than it is in some peers (more than Glock, Walther, S&W, and Steyr and on par with Sig) (also lmao at 9mm recoil being significant in this size of pistol).

It's an interesting design and I'd call it basically even in shooting dynamics to a Sig of similar size and caliber but I'm not planning to carry it or buy it.
