What happens if the squad leader is killed ?
>>
He dies.
>>
The chain of command happens.
>>

>>
>>31616396
Holy shit OP, why has the Army never thought of this?
>>
>>31616396

>>
>>31616396
The next most senior person takes over... are you stupid?
Field promotions happen often when the SL is KIA and the next guy up performs admirably.

What a stupid thread.
>>
Alpha team team leader takes charge.
>>
>>31616396
Then others step up. In an Infantry squad second in charge would probably be the first team leader.
>>
Chain of command. I have seen a specialist have to take command of a platoon weapons squad.
>>
>>31616441
It's Bravo Team leader anon.
>>
>>31616396
TL takes over. If he dies then JDAM is dropped on everyone.
>>
>>31616469
FUCKING LOL
>>
>>31616427
Don't act like a cool witty guy, he's asking what happens, he's not putting forward a problem.
>>
Squad Leader is similar to the Necromancer in War Hammer Fantasy. If he dies the entire squad instantly dies. This makes targeting him a viable tactic. HOWEVER he is very tough so taking him out it not easy.
>>
>>31616441
Wrong, Bravo team leader is the senior TL in the squad.

fuggin tard.
>>
What happens if everybody but 1 guy dies?

Does that mean if he was part of the general's staff the last survivor becomes a general?
>>
>>31616520
It means a JDAM gets dropped on everyone.
>>
>>31616520
Realistically, that entire formation is simply getting written off and the one survivor is added to a new division/brigade/regiment
>>
Someone correct me if I'm wrong(haven't had to remember a squad sucession of command since Ranger school).

>>

>>31616461

Can you explain why this is?
>>
>>31616627
Pssh I'm triaging mang. Just cause they ain't in command anymore doesn't mean they're dead.
>>
>>31616636
Bravo TL is usually second senior to the SQL.
>>
>>31616636
Upon taking contact, Alpha team gets on line and returns fire. Bravo team is in the back of the squad formation and the SL will come back after being briefed by the A TL and brief the B TL. The B TL will lead his team and the SL on a flanking maneuver. It requires more experience.

>>
>>31616692
actually he's right

Company SOP differs literally everywhere. Moving a propper person into the position is sometimes harder then just promoting someone. See: Retarded Companies
>>
>>31616396

You switch kits because he had the medic slot and defib him so your squad mates can spawn on the location. If you can't do this, they'll have to spawn at the nearest captured flag.
>>
>>31616499

It's called common sense. Faggot could of Google it too, instead of making a shit thread. So fuck off faggot.
>>
>>31617388
You sound like a fun dude
>>
>>31616663
An Army squad is only 2 fire teams? News to me. Marine Infantry has 3. We also don't operate this way. Teams often switch positions and responsibilities.

This shit sounds like it's doctrine pulled straight out of an SOI handbook.

I've never seen it play out that way. Alpha and Bravo teams alternated taking point pretty regularly and it rarely ever went down like an ideal battle drill one. In the absence of the squad leader our Alpha team leaders always took charge being as they were the most experienced of the two. Our typical Bravo TL was a E4p and our Alpha TL was an E5.

But I used to play Medic in Wolfenstein Enemy Territory LAN parties and I was the leader.

Bravo team dummy
>>
>>31616396

PL assigns a new one. Probably a TL. There are two TLs to every squad. Two teams in a squad. TL = Team Leader.
>>
>>31616396
Usually what happens (and this has been confirmed by countless studies) is that one guy freaks out and starts shouting "That's it! We're done! Game over, man - game over!" until a different guy grabs him by the shoulders and yells at him to "PULL IT TOGETHER!"

There are some panicky moments, but then the guy who calmed down the "Game Over" guy becomes the leader and proposes a longshot gamble of a strategy that somehow manages to work.
>>
the person with the second most amount of kills becomes squad leader and a blue sergeant insignia appears next to their nametag
>>
>>31616525
fucking lol
>>
>>31616447

No you haven't.
>>
>>31616396
You take a morale check.
>>
>>31616520
Yes. When PFC Dickgrabber from Bumfuck, Mississippi rotates home, they give him a division.
>>
>>31616396
You use the defibrillator to respawn him.
>>
>>31616396
I have another question: what's the priority for fire team positions? Like, if the grenadier and gunner both went down, and it was just the team leader and rifleman left, would the rifleman take the SAW or the grenade launcher? Or is it just decided we needed?
>>
>>31616396
Then you can play inventory management with his body.
>>
>Joe celebrates because his douchebag Sgt was just waxed and now he might get promoted to corporal ahead of going to the board

This
>>
>>31622626
Perfect world, You get someone onto the saw to lay down immediate suppressive fire whole another drags the buddy somewhere secure to start 1st aid.

Irl someone dies you set up a collection point. You cross load ammo as needed, not because he's dead but because you do that after every action. Then, mission dependant, you leave two behind to guard the body and sensitive equipment/ send them back/wait for bird. It's part of the plan that is briefed. Literally 1/5th of mission planning is spent on ccp operations.

This and almost always jump on the SAW. Its the most casualty producing weapon and, when its not a jamomatic, is the best chance you have to get to safety.

Succession of command.
Chain of command is bidirectional, going up and down. Succession is going down.

yeah, more like Joe immediately caps himself because he'll have none of the pay and all of the responsibility
