Its a "dominion arms socom 18" essentially a norinco m305s.

the stock is a boyds wood stock I finished myself, has some varnish on it.

I wouldnt mind a synthetic stock with a pistol grip purely for ergonomics, weight and an easier cheek weld without a riser. maybe a vltor.

I have. How is the weight on it? Its in the intermediate price range, along with some other options such as the vltor. I would probably get the high butt stock adapter.

How do you like the m14 mount with the rear peep sight? Feels almost heretical not to use something like match irons, considering a satlec mount for that reason.
