They added NORAD (US/Canada), Landjut (Germany/Denmark), Soviet-Korean alliance (USSR, NK), Netherlands, Dutch-German Korps (Netherlands/Germany) and Israel as countries.
Lots of other changes in terms of activation points, unit price, unit stats, etc.

It's one of the best super heavies in the game, yes. But it, like all the others, can get memed on by ATGMs, Infantry and other tanks that have side shots.

If you can avoid Spikes and close in with infantry, you win. Also, like I said, shit AA, so if you can avoid their AS fighters you can bomb them relentlessly.

Tell that to the mix of T-80Us, T-72s and T-55s that bum rushed my 6 Merkava 1s and lost every one of their tanks for none of mine. Israeli tanks are absolutely god tier and with their awesome rocket artillery choices makes for a very potent combination.

I'd agree with this. I personally use Israeli militia with a Bedoin unit to get any results and frankly the horrid AA is nothing short of a nightmare. That said, you get some pretty good fighter aircraft.

It is absolutely fine and plausible. Most of the FDF inventory of the timeframe are either Soviet or Finnish, so it is quite reasonable to restrict BLUFOR access to T-55's, BMP-1's, BMP-2's, BTR-50's etc. And when it comes to plausibility, well, you have the YYA Ttreaty (Finno-Soviet Treaty of 1948), which kinda forced Finland to defend Soviet Union against "Germany or its allies". So yes, even though in military exercises the invader always came from the east, the political reality was quite murky.

Shorter ranges puts a greater emphasis on combined arms maneuver and logistics. Large scale flanking maneuvers are a much bigger deal, and require more planning. Good ambushes can delay entire movements. Using air craft requires something more than point + click. Ground recon plays a much bigger deal.

I have a strong bias in its favor, but imo it's an excellent game.
It's pretty different from wargame, despite some common themes (massive armies, importance of logistics and recon).
In the end, it's a simpler game, with less depth, but it achieves some kind of "purity"; there isn't any randomness, the learning curve is very smooth, and there are nice high level tricks that don't require micro. When you win or loose, you really know why, and it's very rarely because of the computer or your lack or apm. It really rewards strategy.
The campaign is also very good. It's puzzle-like scenarios that teach you how to use units. Paving the way for big battles at the end.
The ruse system that allows you to see the order given, create fake bases or camouflage your units as others is awesome, I wish it appeared in other games.

Cons: Endgame is usually boring (piling prototypes tanks and 200+ bomber raids on bases), ruses could have been made more important. Japanese (DLC faction) have all the unusual toys and are pretty OP as a result.

There was a time when I preffered wargame over ruse, but nowadays, between the balance patches, the high ressouorces games and their spam, and the vets with 4000hrs banging newbies, I go back to ruse with a smile.

It's actually availability that causes that to happen. A saved deck is a set of units taken at certain veterancy levels, so when they change plane vet or reassign a unit to a different category (like with infantry transports), any now-invalid unit choices are stripped out. Unit cost doesn't factor into it at all.
