I've worked with this one dude at Suncore who drove back to Edmonton every 2 weeks for his 4 days off. He'd literally get off work, get all his shit from camp, head down to Fort mac, buy a dozen beer or so, and drink said beer while gunning it for Edmonton. I can try it. The one with the paws is kinda nice because it has the black shadow which mimics the Gadsen grass patch under the snake. Also there is some nice detail on it, the other design and the one you have there are a simpler (which makes the design very crisp which is a pro too)

I would want to mess around with varnish at some point. But it does add time and money to the whole process in general.

Before trying that I think it would be more productive to try different wood. I've been using birch this entire time but there are other things I could try. I've just been holding out until I can afford a new machine so I can make elegant stuff.
