Okay /k/, this is going to sound ridiculous, autistic, psychotic or all 3 at once, but how viable is using a Pen as a CC weapon for emergencies?
Like, think about it: It's a long metal tube with a decent point on it. Apply enough force in the right place and it can kill faster than most smaller caliber handguns.
What sort of pen would work better? Fountain p0ens normally have a sharper wide tip but you need to remove the cap first. Most ballpoints on the other hand are less pointy but have no cap. What about high end mechanical pencils as well? Would they work too?
the penis mightier than the sword
>>31610034
It would literally be easier to kill someone with a metal fork
That's not CCing, that's just called carrying a pen.
>>31610138
Prove it. The pen leaves a bigger hole. Hit a neck artery and unless someone jamms a finger in the wond the bleed out comes in less then 5 minutes.
>>31610152
Tell that to the London Metropolitan Police of to the TSA.
Zebra F-402 or F-701
Tactical Pens are Shit and add +100 Autism Points
Or just have a Knife
Or both
Prepare for the shitstorm of a thread
how about a pencil?
>>31610183
>Tactical Pens are Shit and add +100 Autism Points
I agree but not for the reasons you may think.
The whole idea behind this is a CC that is completly out of the blue and very sneaky peaky like. A tactical pen jumps to the eye and draws attention, while a regular pen is invisible most of the time unless you draw attention to it.

Mechanical Pencils have a very small point where the lead comes out of it indeed and would work great. My only problem is it could break to easy and accidentaly stay in the wound keeping it blocked and reducing blood loss.
i know its just entertainment from an anti gunner show but still

that's not lead it's steel
>>31610288
I know it isnt lead in the picture. I am using a figure of speech.
Maybe a pen with a metal body? A clickey ballpoint may not be strong enough to have the point go into the target, but if the body is strong enough, it gets narrow down near the tip. Maybe one with a rubber click part, so you could brace it in your palm. Maybe a piece of cardboard in your palm if time permits to reduce impact. Then just drop it.
Just spitballing here
Pic related is what you are looking for. Stainless, tough yet classy as fuck pen.
/Thread.

Upstanding african gentleman I was friends with in college always carried a glassbreaker pen. It works as a normal pen but it fucking hurts like hell to get hit with it.
>>31610034
>easier to kill someone with a pen than a small caliber handgun
Trauma worker here. This is bullshit. Stabbing someone to death is EXTREMELY difficult, as penetration with the force of an arm usually isn't enough to ensure a kill, especially when considering that you have to be close enough to the victim for them to struggle and fight back. We see far more people killed by 22s than by stabbings, because bullets, even small ones, penetrate deeply enough to disrupt organs and puncture arteries. I don't think I've EVER seen someone die from being stabbed by a pen.
>>31610716
>bolt action pen
>>31610167
>prove it
You can't penetrate deeply enough to seriously wound someone with a pen. The sharpest pen you will have is a ball point, and that is still more dull than the tines on a fork. Now quit being an autist, you aren't going to injure anyone with a fucking pen.

No, no, no. It doesn't work like that, newfriend.
>OP thinks he can macgyver his way to defend himself
Why not just CC a handgun like semi-normal people?

>a tactical pen jumps to the eye and draws attention
Not really, they look like pens made of metal, that's it. Most people don't know what they are and won't recognize them. If you're just using a normal pen you might as well go full retard and stab them with your car keys.
Or as everyone else has said carry a gun or a knife.
>>31611200
so if i slam a brass pen onto your temple repeatedly you'll be AOK?
Fun fact for britfags: a pen can be confiscated by the cops as equipment for grafitti, a metal pen torch can't.
>when the penfags start coming out of the woodwork
>>31610034
Get a Parker.
The main issue is you would need to spend a shit ton of time training different styles of martial styles in order to make the pen a viable impact tool outside of basic strikes.
>>31610167
You guys can't even have a pen?!
>>31611045
Literally a bolt action pen

I don't think you know what a figure of speech is, friend.
My dad is a pilot and he told me they tell you to use your pen to hit the neck artery as a last resort if someone breaks into the cockpit. They also have a big ass axe behind them but i guess if you can't get to it...

In the last days of the republic, swords were banned in Rome, so a lot of people got stabbed to death with pens (they were sharp metal rods for carving wax)

A meisterstuck would be by far the worst pen for emergency use. They are made of fairly delicate resin.

And if so, where can I buy one???

Toronto its felt like about 10°C with wind all week.
I've had to wear my (normally decorative) furs in the home office every evening. Gets nippy.
It doesn't sound ridiculous at all.
I'm moving to California soon, because enormous amounts of fun honestly, for me, outweigh personal protection.
If CCing a pen is an effective alternative I'll listen to what you have to say. Continue to elaborate.
>>31610034
You're a fucking moron and you have no idea what you're talking about, not least of which because your entire theory is based on the assumption that the pen is just going to go right into the person when you stab them, and not bend/break/miss the vital point you're looking for/etc. Then there's the fact even if everything goes perfectly you're only going to penetrate a couple of inches at most, and even if you somehow miraculously hit a major artery, your attacker still has plenty of time to kill you before blood loss has any major effect since they probably came prepared for a fight whereas you're just carrying an ink pen.
Then there's this little gem here:
>Apply enough force in the right place and it can kill faster than most smaller caliber handguns
It's okay for brothers and sisters to bang but they need to use birth control for this very reason: It creates retards. Go explain to Auntie Momma and Uncle Daddy what a condom is.

lol its like one of those firemen axes for clearing stuff in case of a crash. You can actually CC but you have to go out to Nevada and take a 3 day course if you get approved, but thats a bitch so most just hope nothing happens. if it does, the airlines say, in the words of my father, "stabbum inna neck wit your pen, if nothin else it'll hopefully stun um and let ya get the axe."

Ugh, how disgusting. 10°C is my optimal temperature. Any hotter and I feel like crap.
I'm canadian. This is my fuckin jam. This 35°C summer was a friggin ordeal.
I'll only be unhappy once we get a huge dump of snow and it turns to damp slush right after, like every Feb. I hate wet boots.
