You gotta buy a .300 blackout man it's literally the best damn cartridge on the market right now
Only problem is all the manufacturers that make .300 blackout uppers make piss poor barrels that melt after a few hundred rounds, so buy a .300 receiver and just buy a really nice solid 5.56 barrel. It's the same size bullet so it really doesn't matter. Don't buy into the Jews.
Also get yourself aa lower receiver with a skull shaped magwell since you can afford it

OP for 3k I'd say buy a prebuilt rifle by someone gucci tier, don't put together your first one. Enough dosh for mags n ammo, which you'll want a fair amount of.

Any plans for using this for SD in your home? That might push me toward a pistol first, or a railed gun or not. If its just for shits, gucci AR, easier to hit shit.

Building your own can be pretty tool intensive, unless you plan on putting a few together getting the various punches, vice blocks, vices etc might not be worth it. Also you can make mistakes in construction.

If you have a shop and skill, then yeah might be fun. Check out gunstruction on ar15.com, very neat to get familer with what interacts with what.

Otherwise there are various tiers of AR manufactuers, features and styles. BCM, Daniel Defense, a host of super boutique shit.

With HD in mind; short, lightweight and with some sort of low light assistance, a flash light etc.

MidwayUSA has a really good 2 part video putting together an AR15, I'd watch that to get an idea of building one.
