Alright I really need your help with this guys, so i live in Mexico and to put it short there is only one gun store in the entire country and its crazzy difficult to get a permit to get in to said store.
How ever time to time randomly there will be some one selling an unregistered firearm but becauas these are illegal they are expensive as shit and there is no selection you kinda just have to go with what you get : /
Luckily for me a kimber 1911 22LR rimfire landed on my lap one day so i snagged that puppy up, now my question to you is does the barrel need to be threaded for it to be compatible with a silencer?
Will this silencer work?
And overall did i do good?

That site wont ship a suppressor to Mexico & the barrel would need to be threaded. The good news is i dont belive kimber ever made a dedicated 22cal 1911, so if you can get a real 1911 upper you could convert it to 45acp.

Ya dun bad Pedro. How many pesos?
>>31603727
I´m not following what do you mean? like a conversion kit?
>>31603744
i paid 11000 pesos for it, not a bad price compared to what glocks are going for.
Can you actually buy ammo for this?
>>31603822
ammo isnt too difficult to buy, but a box of .45 will cost 2000 pesos
thats why i went for the .22 box is only 150 pesos
>>31603782
Yeah pretty much a conversion kit. You would need a new mag, barrel, slide & recoil spring. You might be able to order them from the US since they are not controled items over here. But it would be better if you had friends or family in the states buy it and ship it into mexico.
>>31603846
Cool. I would buy some ammo and go somewhere remote and make sure it works. If that isn't an option, load it up and hand cycle the rounds through it (hard) to simulate firing. .22 isn't a very good caliber to protect yourself with but it has killed plenty of people. Make do with what you have and stay safe.

>>31603886
are there any sites you would recommend? it would be very helpful to the cause.
>>31603891
unfortunetly that is the reason i would like a silencer to be able and practice all i want with any trouble.
>>31603921
if you wanted a picture of my piece all you had to do was ask :3
>>31603659
I'm an american, and I don't know shit about your gun laws or how you guys procure guns to begin with.
I thought your firearm black market was huge. If it is as restricted as you say, how are you going to get ammo to shoot that thing? Plan a trip to America?
Also, what the fuck is it with Mexicans and chrome 1911s chambered in 38 super? You guys come into our shop all the time asking for those. I sold three chrome RIA 1911s in the past month, and they were all to guys wanting to get "hella sick engravings" on them.
>>31603990
There's a reason it's called 38 Mexican
>>31603990
what a coincidence I'm an american to
I already answeared that, ammo isnt much of an issue.
idk? its hella sick from what i hear, so does that answer your question?
>>31603925
If you are ordering direct from mexico i dont know which shops would ship. But if you have a friend/ family in the us order it i would look at sarco, numrichs, brownells & sites like that.
>>31604093
thank you so much
>>31603990
Because .38 Super was, for a long time, the only relatively high-powered pistol round you could get in Mexico due to KEK MILITARY CALIBERS AND ALL PISTOL CALIBERS OVER .38 ALL BANNED FOR CIVILIANS. This is why .222 and .380 are popular down there as well.
They recently banned .38 Super fully (grandfathered only now), but there's a lot of cultural stuff behind it at this point.

>Mimber
Melt it down into a knife and you're gtg!
>>31604024
I'm calling it that from now on, mang.
>>31603659
That's bs mate, I've been to thay gunstore. Habla español? That certainly helps, but anyone can walk in with the right ID. It's in df, not far from el hippodromo/ polanco
>>31603659
>not getting a .45acp with a .22lr conversion kit
nevermind the mimber hate. everyone uses mim shit these days
>>31603921
We all know op pic is not his own. Now fuck off retard.
>>31603659
Well, 11000 pesos is about 650 USD. Steep for a used gun, but Kimbers are expensive to begin with. If I wanted one like that it wouldn't be much cheaper.
>>31603846
Well, at least you can afford to feed it.
>>31603925
Only way to silence it as is would be to make a barrel extension to the barrel for a suppressor to thread to, which would probably fuck the gun up quite a bit. I wouldn't advise it.
>>31606605
Fuck off retard.
>>31606605
Not like OP has much in the way of options.
>>31603659
Yes you can thread it for a suppressor, look at how the M&P 22 is threaded (google). Have a machinist do the same thing.
This is also a dedicated 22 so dont order a .45 kit for it.
