there's an EU directive on firearms transfers between EU countries. you need to fill out a form, the exporter needs to fill out a form.

if you find a decent shooting club near you (pretty much every larger village has one) you can start shooting within a day. only minimum age applies to rented or borrowed guns on the range. buying guns takes some time.

IIRC, you basically just have to have a BGC and Psych eval. With those, you can apply for a C&R license, which let you have almost literally anything, but you have to know what you want before hand, because you can only buy things that are listed on your C&R. You can apply for as many C&Rs as you like though.

Not him again but yes of course.
A lot of sports shooters are BW soldiers who thought that shooting is fun enough to do in their free time, or served in the army in the past and you have a lot of contact with them.
Its, to a way lesser extent, similar with hunters.

Also gun owners everywhere in the (western) world are mostly conservatives so its just natural to have some sympathy for the soldiers (even though disliking the army organization, war in foreign countries, the draft, the politicians leading it, etc. is of course common place).

The same rules apply to you.

-The fast route through the hunting course

In short: The gun club takes a year but is without greater costs on your side. After that you are allowed to buy a certain amount of guns from the semi auto to the bolt action, no problem.
The hunting course can take anywhere from nine days to six months or longer and may cost you from 600€ to 2500€+. After that you are pretty much free to buy any rifle as long as its not fully automatic and the gun is longer than 60cms. Having this also means youre allowed to hunt in a lot of other european countries.

Its technically without much of a problem to carry on your ground and the shopkeeper can easily defend himself if he wishes.

About the Police thing: After years of reducing spending and cutting personnel in the police agencies of most states the politicians recently realied that we need more police if we don't wabt everything to go to shit completely so they're starting to hire more people again (an example: in my state, police hires twice a year, first semester of 2016 720 new officers were sworn in and that was considered quite a lot - now for the first semester of 2017 they're hiring oer 1000 people)
But since training takes about 3 years, and we'll have a lot of people retiring the increasing numbers will take quite a while to kick in.
Also, I heard that Berlin apperantly doesn't get enough qualified applicants; something like 2100 out of 2800 people who failed the test failed due to too many grammatical mistakes, but that's Berlin, so make of that what you will.
