gear queer general gents

Im worried the tyr gunfighter belt doesnt have enough molle and its too thin to hold smaller pouches. anyone got one?

Also anyone know of a place to get d3cr in ranger green that isnt 260 euro?
>>
>>31594951

This will probably get a lot of shit, but I cheaped out on a belt (some very basic Blackhawk one) and wore it with arcteryx suspenders. It was cost effective and had plenty of real estate, food for thought

>>
>>31595156
I should note that it's not going to be as tight as one of those belts that uses a riggers type belt buckle if that's what you have in mind. The benefit with the suspenders is that you can wear it just loose enough to twist the whole belt around to get to things that might be in harder to reach locations.

I like, two questions tho

1. do you have a specific purpose for the chem light?

2. What do you put in the pouch on your belt towards the bottom. (The large one without the med cross on it)

It is. The rail and grip are barely noticable but that flashlight is a fat bitch. This is my "bolt everything on" setup. Normally it is just the light, VFG and irons. Which definetly helps.

Going to the range or taking it out adds the scope and the light goes in the pack.

Not tying to be an ass or anything, just curious. I've seen a lot of people with the shoulder pad stuff now, and now face armor. What is your thoughts on it? Like are you assuming you'll be in a static position and it really move much? I've had the armor vs mobility debate myself, having ran (literly) with plates for years, I think I'm moving to that chest rig life. I couldn't imagine doing what I did, with face armor and shoulder pads.

Yes absolutely you're overpaying and they weigh as much as steel plates do! Armorwear tends to rip off other designs and "polish" them up for resale.

>>
>>31598764
I'm not 100% talking about weight. I'm not attacking your idea or anything. Just because your in shape doesn't mean it's effective. I had a training regiment too? Doesn't automatically mean my range of movement is not impacted from wearing things. Regardless of weight your putting things on your body that regulate freedom of movement. -And that's fine if you think the trade off is worth it, that's all I was asking though. How your thought process was.

My apologies I was on the phone recently with another company CEO I had to make my text more brief then I intended. The goal of my project is the create the most flexible lightweight armor platform for civilian purchase. This is just a prototype my plate carrier weighs 12 ozs flat. My plate carrier should not weigh more then 10lbs with ballistic shoulder armor and pouches it puts me at the 12lb mark before magazines. I'm buying some of the lightest API protection out there. My design allows for rapid movement. Now for static position I would just use my ballistic level IV shield and attach so ancillary panels here and there. and call it a day.
>>
>>31598860
You will thank me for saving you 2.5 lbs per plate aswell. 5lbs off your carrier weight not quite polymer class but it should not be a burden to you. They are NIJ 06 aswell so water submersion and mud will not affect them.

Armorwear is selling last year's model to boot! nij 04/05

>>
>>31598906
If you can make room on your belt or plate carrier. I strongly advise you to not use a drop leg holster or a drop leg serpa holster.Your mobility will take a huge hit. Your quads and hamstrings already have to push more weight topside. Attach a decent waist holster of your choice and you would be better off in most cases. If you're on a motorcycle or vehicle alot mount it horizontally on your plate carrier to avoid issues when going prone.

My buddy has a Marshal LBT and it's fucking great. Was worth the $250 he paid for it, though I still prefer my JPC overall.

Nice, though. Right now I'm planning to sell my JPC, buy either a JPC 2.0, an AVS, or maybe even something else if somebody talks me into it, then a Crye combat shirt and pant in MC Tropic, and then finish kitting out my PC (really just want contents for my IFAK, some pistol mags [which I'll probably get a battle belt for], and a flatpack for a hydration bladder and other random shit).

Do I feel the need to spend more money on it and get it all set up and comfy af? yes. Can I afford it? Pfft...Who can

But once I have completed my sets, I am gonna stop
Want CB set up, RG set up, and poorman set up

have:
1x CB RIG: EI RRV, full EI pouches (6 mag, admin, frag, canteen, ifak, MBITR) and MAP. All pre-2009.
1x Battle Belt: CB, HSGI Suregrip, HSGI Cobra Inner, ITS Fatboy, 2x ITW Fast M4, 2x HSGI Taco, Maxpedition Dump, Multi tool, Surefire 6P, Ka Bar TDI. [Need: two double stack pistol, Holster]
1x RG RIG: LBT 6094S, bare bones, Ferro Concepts KTS [Need: IFAK, Utility and admin]
1x Poor man: South African Pattern 83 front that I mated to a Condor Hydro Harness (I know, fuck you, poor mans rig)

Now, all I need is a RG fanny pack to go with RG setup and the few items listed above and I can stop buying gear. Bought them specifically in CB and RG to avoid having to update patterns if I update cam.

Cam now, and for the foreseeable future is only MARPAT and M81 Woodland master races.

I've got a JPC with AVS should pads right now and I can honestly say that I enjoy wearing it for "extended" periods of time (8 hours is about the longest I've worn it for without taking it off). I also really love how low profile it is and how easy it is to shoot with as you can still get the rifle up against your shoulder.

Yes. The AVS + harness is really fucking good in and of itself, but along with the SSKTO or whatever belt to chest straps it becomes literally almost weightless. Well that surgeon is a fucking idiot. It does make a difference yes, but if you have that theory then why do they even sell it anymore? Why wouldn't everyone 'take something else'?

When someone gets into a major wreck, and has to go into the OR straight from the scene, they cant ask "sir did you take any asprin in the past seven days?" And guess what most of the time surgery is fine.

And for the record yeah id agree if your doing combat patrols everyday, then why risk it. But clearly hes not, hes posting on the chan. Now maybe he has to go to the field during the week, and guess what? His chances of bleeding out are probably just a tad higher than a normal civilians chance. So its not a big deal if he wants to take aspirin.

I totally get your point dude, but your over thinking it. If you think that in depth, than I hope you have a perfect diet, perfect work out regiment, and dont smoke or drink. Because guess what, thats probably worse for you in surgery. CLEARLY the guy isnt using the asprin for his trauma kit, so just lay off. Your esstionally telling the guy to not take asprin to work. Hes probably wearing that flak 5 days outa the week, hes not building a prepper GSW trauma kit.

Yes for both sides so if one side is compromised the other has full integrity. The frame is polymer with the same feel as an oakley frame but larger. crye's chops are not specificed for the tramua of a hand gun round to the face like these are which are double layered custom cut 3a kevlar inserts to stop the backface deformation and prevent face deformation. Revision, Mtek, polycarbonate face shields , russian equivalents are one piece therefore one a bullet impacts it the entire system is compromised. Also this is the second lightest unit on the market , Cryes chops are slightly lighter & have a 2 piece design, They lack the necessary integration this one gives. For instance I can remove my front faceplate to talk normally,to increase ventilation or increase my FOV. Revisions unit actually costs more then an op score solution does.

Side plates and cock pro use are dictated by necessity. If you feel as though you can sacrifice the mobility and need the extra protection, then go for it. Personally, after having worn side plates for long periods of time, I prefer the added mobility of not having them in, but that's not to say they don't have a place in some circumstances

Ten speed bfg rig vs micro fight chest rig?
>>
>>31610799
What's your intended purpose for it? over a vest or concealed under jacket?
>>
>>31610892
Home defense and inna woods fucking around. It would eventually work with a carrier but I would like to also like to be able to conceal it as well. So I guess I want the best of both worlds.
If there is another rig that isn't either of those that would be better let me know.
>>
>>31610799
I'd go micro and if you build a PC do that, get dedicated pouches.
>>
>>31611034
Blue Force plate carriers have the material needed for the vests as posted above,>>31598916
There chest rigs do not. micro fight chest rig is an outstanding choice compared to its rivals However I do not know what plate carrier you would want whit this do you want just a front plate setup from ronin tacticals or a double plate setup That I think you will like. https://www.roguegunfighter.com/index.php/shop/tactical-nylon/moab-vestonly-detail
it should fit both rolls you're looking for without being to costly. You want the best of both worlds, then choose. This plate carrier and the micro fight chest rig.
>>
>>31611269
However it does weigh a bit more due to its construction. If you need it to be ultralite then you will have to look elsewhere for a plate carrier conceal/overt combo..

>>
>>31611343

How does /gq/ feel about using a backpacks' waist belt to mount assorted pouches in lieu of a battle belt/first line setup? Say I'm mounting all my mags on a PC, and all that's on my belt is a canteen, IFAK, pistol holster, dump pouch, and maybe a double mag pouch for said pistol.

I find it to be exceptionally clear. It really is a substantial optic, nice heft to it. Doesnt feel like a bargain basement optic at all. I think it may be a touch heavier than a comparable Vortex prism as well. Ill have to look up the specs. It is one of those optics orth taking a look at. I have an ADM QD mount for it as well which is a nice touch. A bonus is that this mount fits an ACOG as well so when I upgrade I already have the mount.

Alternatively, anybody have any suggestions for an SPR/Recce rig? Needs to hold 3-4 30s on the front, 2 1911 mags, radio, and a GP pouch.
Being able to hook into a small backpack like a GoRuck or Removable Operator (size-wise) would also be a plus, as I don't run plates and would like to keep everything light, clean and streamlined.

IMO Chest rig / small assault pack integration is one of the more retarded gimmicky things on the market.
Go with a chest rig you like, and a pack you like.

>>31623426
It fits my POU though since I'd like a light rig and a light pack that all fits perfectly.

>>31623226

As much as I like this idea, you might have a tough time if you don't have sufficient weight in your pack to keep it from shifting about, especially height wise on your chest. I wish you luck, though. I'm also interested in finding a chest rig exactly like you mentioned, except with a rip away IFAK and a GP pouch for small pocket shit.

Alternatively, anyone know if this ANA Gorka set is solid? I tend to get down and dirty repairing cars, generally being outdoors, etc. a lot so I want something that will keep the wind out and be durable. Alternatively, does anyone have any suggestions for jackets that have a removable liner for when I just want to use a windbreaker? Does such a thing exist? I like that Gorka but I'm not really into gear all that much.

Its a meme. Greyman is blending in, not the "I'm totally not concealing a firearm" look.
