It's not related to the QBZ family, it just looks similar. I called Lever Arms (the Syrup company that helped design it), since I was hoping that lower handguard was the same, but it isn't interchangeable with the T97. That being said, they are fun to shoot, very soft. Even slugs are a breeze.
