Legit milsurp chicoms are tougher as fuck, way tougher than condor which is basically airsoft-tier.
Spetsnaz, Selous Scouts, and US special forces were all huge fans of the type 56.
>>
>>31586423
Condor is the worse of the two, it's made specifically for airsoft.
>>
The SADF 83 chest rig is solid as fuck, my VZ mags live in one. You can fit just about anything you want in one. Failing that, order something from greyshop. Chinese rigs are okay but I have a feeling the common ones are cheap shit. Don't get squeamish about spending money on something good.

If you get a chicom you're only in the hole $15-30 and you get something that will outlast your grandkids. I own one and it is absolutely amazing, if there weren't millions of them they would be not inexpensive, so buy one soon if you want it since cheap surp is drying up fast.

Condor on the other hand is shit, I've played airshit with condor oper8tors and their shit was literally falling apart as we played a small game that wasn't intense at all.

Or get the SA vest, I don't know where they are but if what these other anons are saying about them being $30 then you need to get that, or the chicom. These two options are the only real ones, you need to kms yourself for even suggesting condor. I wish I bought an SA vest when my local shop had a few.

Mine is still fairly loose. I prefer the 56 because I use the front two GP pouches and leave the back two empty so I can reach my holster easier.
>>
Last year I bought a Chinese sks rig for about 10 bucks. Never encountered any problems with it.
>>
>>31586671
I've never used a SADF rig, but I really like the Bosnian one. Holds more mags, and the wide lateral belt is actually pretty good to attach things to. Canteen and such.
>>
>>31587179

I know the Raven style holsters are great and all, but one point of constructive criticism:

Consider using something with active retention. Even just going to a Safariland ALS (which is very fast -- basically if you grip the pistol properly with a high grip, you'll naturally disengage the retention) is enough. The idea is to keep you from losing the pistol which, in my experience, is very important when moving around outdoors with a holstered gun, especially if strenuous movement is in the cards.

Otherwise pretty good.
>>
Chicom is more durable than condor, also cheaper.
>>
>>31587061

You can make any chicom rig fit more mags by soaking it in hot water, gently hammering in a second mag (with cardboard between the two mags for a bit of extra space.)

This will stretch out the canvas like the soviets did in Afghanistan.

I need cheap load outs for the spare AK's I have for people, I'm thinking this rig with 3 mags, and a 4 cell mag pouch on a belt.
>>
>>31588663
you can stretch these to fit 6 mags if you use hot water, there a fairly simple process the muji used fighting the soviets

>>31588089

>>
>>31586646
Drill out the speaker hole on your handset, it has only a pinhole and really affects transmission quality.
>>
>>31586487
where do you find them for 50 bucks?! the kommando store has one for like 150!
>>
>>31586423
how well do these work with ar mags? im assuming they fit loose and are short
>>
>>31586423
>>31591930

I have the ones that hold 4 magazines and they hold AK and AR mags just fine. One AK mag per pouch, two AR mags if I remember right. I added a plastic buckle to the straps of mine so I wouldnt have to fuck with untying a knot if I needed to get it off me. Really simple to do and the rig itself is really comfortable and distributes the weight of loaded AK mags pretty well.
>>
>>31591956
Its the Type 63, already mentioned in above posts by other anons. Fantastic rig and dirt cheap. Tough, too.
>>
SRVV V2 chest rigs are awesome, I have one in SURPAT. Use it for both airshit and range shooting, would definitely recommend it. The only downside is the price, about 100 bucks.
>>
Chicom rig is cheap and holds up. just add a cheap plasticbuckle on the back and you're good to go. A must if you have an sks.
>>
>>31591824
Thats the battle jacket not the chest rig.

They're too narrow.

Get the cardboard out first then it should be easy. If that fails, gently hammer from the bottom until one sticks out enough to remove.
>>
>>31588089
I dunno know, even with AK mags that shit was tight and VZ mags are a good bit wider.

I have one, they're pretty good. It's simple and functional, if you get anything more you're just paying to look operator when in reality this is just useful for range fucking around. Nobody will double look someone with one of these, but you get attention go full gear.

That is what I use but they don't really close tight. I mean it works but it's just too loose for me.

Am I missing anything if I skip out on this $10 deal and choose to just stick with my Type 81 instead? I mean the type 81 seems pretty comfy, are those 2 extra utility pouches that good?
>>
>>31596236
not worth it.
>>
>>31597838
The only thing is I suspect my type 81 isn't surplus, the grenade pouches don't match the colour of the rest of the rig and those leather glides are stitched instead of one piece. Might be a refurb or something, any surefire way to tell?

that's because they are treated to be water proof

this varys from rig to rig, it depends on what factory or lot of materials it was made at/with

hnnng that color. i like that one. it's most likely legit they have a lot of color and material variance. some have those little metal deals some dont. If its not falling apart and not made of swishy shitty nylon then its fine man. I would buy that from you for $10
>>
>>31598205
It's much more of a regular OD green in person, I wish it was that dark though.

But yeah, the construction itself seems sold, all cotton canvas, double stitched everywhere that matters, tried tugging on some pouches and straps to see if they would just rip out and shit seems solid, ext... I didn't realize the fakes were falling apart nylon shit, I thought they'd be something that was just good enough to seems like the legit thing at a glance.

you were supposed to wear them with other kit. like belt pouches and a backpack.

120 rounds of 7.62x39 from a rifle that was designed to be a sub machinegun, not an assault rifle is pretty good. you get a shit ton of guys running towards the enemy shooting full auto bursts and its decently effective unless they are in fortified positions with machinguns,
