It's not like I'm sitting on 50k rounds or something. I've just been buying a case or two every month for the past few months so I have enough to weather the initial price surge if she gets elected. Ammo is still available online, and I'd guess in stores too but I've never bought ammo in a brick and mortar store except for a box of carry ammo.

I'm not gonna get fucked over with insane prices if I want to go to the range in February because I only had like 100rds in my safe or something.

Looks good, ammo hoards are sexy.
Having all the bulk boxes gives the illusion that they're 20-50rd boxes, and that MG in the back is tiny.

I stock steel case for slav calibers, brass for nato.
I have more ammo for slav calibers, and a lot more ammo per caliber too. I've only recently gotten into nato guns and am working my way up.
I just think slav guns are more fun to shoot, and have a thing for steel cored ammo.

Just an fyi, a lot of times PSA will sell those same mags for a dollar more each but with free shipping if you buy 20 or more. Depending on what the shipping comes out to that might be a better deal for you. 20 might sound like a lot but they'll never be any cheaper than they are now, especially if November goes the wrong way, and they don't expire or go bad. Worst case you just sell them down the road for $10 each or something.

About 6 years ago when congress passed that law that says only UPS and FEDEX can ship ammunition to residential address they very quietly slipped a requirement for both of those carriers to report the address and weight of anything they delivered marked ORM-D and Explosive 1.4G.

Threads like these have prevented me from picking up so many firearms I want because I'll never be satisfied with the amount of ammo I have.

I haven't gone to the range in months because I don't want to waste even a single round with the election around the corner. I buy a few cases of several calibers every week and the first thing I think of once those boxes show up is that I need to shove these into cans and order more.

aluminum is weaker than steel bolts and barrels

if you mean magazines, no your receivers are mostly steel and aluminum, if you notice your finish starting to wear on either mags or receiver, get it cerakoted, the issue will be gone.

Just finally tried out wolf gold 223 tonight from an RPK. Figured I'd see how it did vs a lawnmower blade.
Seemed to hit wherever I was aiming and had the telltale cat piss smell of russian powder.

You overpaid big time for the Federal Auto Match. I've picked up like 10 boxes in the past year from wally world and it is 17-18 per box.

SGAmmo also has wolf gold for 309 per thousand.

Furthermore if your 2 cases of 1000 come with free shipping then you just paid $21 on shipping for 975 rounds of 22lr. you just paid 9.5 cpr for federal auto match. You could have gone to wally world or your lgs and bought CCI mini mags for 8 cpr.
>>
>>31599770
I hate brass prep so I only reload for my 308 bolt gun and that is when I feel like testing loads for long range shooting. Most of my shooting is 400yds and in at my local range so its more cost effective to buy match ammo when I can find it cheap.

Russian ammo is already banned from importation. Clinton signed an agreement back in the early nineties with Russian that they would not import their surplus ammo into the United States. 5.45x39 was banned because it is considered "armor piercing" because of its steal core and someone made an Ak74 pistol. 7.62x54r isn't banned from import as far as I know but it has mostly dried up due to demand for it result from the conflict in Ukraine.

Do you have any idea how thorough a search by a federal agent is?

In 1983 I was a hanger on to a 1%er MC club. The club president went to kill a guy who owed the club money with a pipe bomb, the fuse was bad and he blew the bottom half of his arm off. Before his wife had a chance to call the clubhouse from the hospital the FBI and BATF showed up. They took us one by one and strip searched us . Then they did a search of the home I simply found amazing, the places they were looking.the home. Then they sifted the shit in jars and bottles in the kitchen and I assume the basement and garage ...didn't see that. Then they brought in metal detection equipment and tore open the walls ceilings and floors where ever they got a hit.

There is no way on earth you will ever hide any significant amount of ammunition or weapons in a residential environment and if they are interested enough in you they will bring earth x ray technology in and find shit you have buried on your rural properties. I watched as troops used earth x ray equipment on some ground that was going to be dug up at the closed Joliet munitions plant in Elwood Illinois years back. That shit can find disturbed soil going down deep. You ain't hiding shit if they want to find it bad enough.

You think law enforcement doesn't know all the secret hiding space shit that gets sold online...fuck criminals know where to look for special hiding places. munitions plant

>>

>stack up on mags and weapons themselves
I can see where you are coming from if you don't have a good gun collection yet. Get all the guns that could be banned.
But for a lot of of us who have the main toys we want, surviving ammo panics comfortable is goal #1.
I shoot every common slav/nato caliber anyway, so ammo panics don't effect me quite the way they effect some beginning collector who strictly has an ar-15 and 9mm pistol. I don't remember 762x39 disappearing for very long at all last panic, that's why I don't mention that since many people start with a standard ak47 for a first real gun.

I think the chance of the bullets themselves being unavailable is really unlikely, there's .223 5-rd bolt guns. So eventually the panic will end and rounds will be available again, what you might not be able to get in the near future is 30 rd mags, ar-15 lowers that aren't some sort of registered assult weapon, and all that sort of stuff.

You're right, sometimes I get a bit to serious for a Rastafarian gardening forum. My bad anon.

The thing is I speak as someone who spent to many years paying for stupid mistakes I made in my youth. Never was charged with anything but I had a record because I was implicated in that bombing just by being in the guys home while he was having the dead parts of his arm removed in a trauma center.

There is NO ANONYMITY online, none. Every post we make here is linked back to us except for the few who know how to hide and lets be honest...how many really know how to hide these days.
I have met a bunch of young men from /k IRL and I hate that they are putting themselves in harms way from the leftist marxist socialists who are going to win sooner or later.
>I swear /k/ has to have the most people over 30 posting on it of any board.

The leftists in the democratic party have been working very hard at ways to do just that for at least 5 years and they aren't even shy about it./... look at what just happened in Cali FFS. \

After Hillary steals this election the might just go full potato and try to impose huge taxes on ammo, maybe ban internet sales and shipping. They have already outlawed the competition of both UPS and FEDEX from shipping ammo to residences...what's next.

If you are unwilling to get physically active in the fight for our 2A rights you are in fact part of the problem. Join your local state rifle association, give money to the NRA, GOA and such, Attend meetings and start your own groups. MAKE YOUR VOICES HEARD PEOPLE.

Here's the cheat sheet he might find handy.
I've only used xm193 and the 223 version, both seem to do fine. Puts holes in stuff accurately, and what more do I want from FMJ ammo? XM193 out penetrates steel core 54r and 308 on my steel targets. That speed is hard on steel from a 23.3" barrel.
>>31607543
>/k/ used to be pretty fucking awesome.
I'm stuck between two events, or the combo thereof making /k/ noticeably worse. Although it's bounced back quite a bit.
1. Sandy hook in 2012 is right when there was a massive influx of people and the board culture changed from shooting/gun heavy, to the "/k/ random" it is now. It's still ok and FAR better than it was the following year or two as those people either fucked off back to their home boards or integrated, but the culture did change permanently.
2. And/or the proliferation of smartphones and mobile posters who undoubtedly have lower post quality since it's slower and more work than a keyboard. I know for a fact that my post quality drops like a rock posting from a phone. You think I'd write all this shit on a phone? Nope, because I can't type as easily or at the speed of my brain's thoughts on a phone. It's much easier to follow a train of thought and express it on my pc.
