Should I make a ptr 91 into a dmr or just built an AR10?
Depends on the model of PTR, but probably just build an AR10.
>>31582730
Do you have a AR10 yet?
If the answer is no build a AR10 first then later make what ever the fuck you want later.
>>31582784
Which model do you recommend? The only reason I was thinking of getting a ptr is because I have 50 mags for it that I bought to sell after the election.
>>31582805
The best recommendation is to kill yourself based on the information you just provided.
>>31582829
Damn why are you so salty?
>>31582730
>Should I make a ptr 91 into a dmr or just built an AR10?
nice you'll hit 2moa for 5k lol srs stop being dumb you can buy your shitty ptr and build and ar10 or buy a scar too and get an actually accurate rifle
>>31583047
Wirty pls

>>31582829
>buying 50 ptr mags
>they're 3 bucks each
>price never goes up
>this retard thought he could pull a profit off of ptr mags
Incredible
Without SCAR amounts of money a PTR is a 2moa gun at DMR ranges. Get the AR10.
Ar10 will be a lot better for actually accurate stuff. It's and the scar the best options for it
>>31582730
Find a .308 receiver set, add a ballistic advantage barrel for under $250, you'll get moa or better.
>>31583697
I own a SCAR and it's moa accurate out to at least 650m in personal experience, but I'd still get an AR10 for a dedicated DMR. Especially when something like a GAP10 is around or possibly lower than a 17s
>>31583641
OP here I paid a $1 each.
>>31583047
This is why you're banned from everything like the rest of the /arg/ trash.
>>31583575
seriously, wirty, are you not getting dicked down enough? lay off the hk people.
>>31582730
I built an AR-10
it is pure fucking unadulterated high impact violent sex
I recommend building one
>>31582784
good thing this photogenic freedom fighter had a photographer with a 1,000$+ camera set up to capture him in motion perfectly without any type of bluring or distortion whatsoever :^)
>>31585333
Tbf there's quite a few pic related PTR owners around here, and while he may be exaggerating it's still true
>>31583773
what the fuck is a GAP10?
>>31585419
vgoo zhaidlol ring any bells?
>>31582730
ptr, fucking everybody has an ar10
>>31585419
Actually, that's not that unreasonable. A photog would naturally follow that guy around thinking it'd make for a good photo, and you only need 1/250th or so to freeze him like that.

Look up Georgia Precision.
>>31585487
He's probably long dead by now. Secular folks didn't last long.
With the Bill Springfield trigger, my PTR32 is about 1moa or a hair higher when I'm on my game. I imagine the 91 would have similar performance. It wouldn't be as good as a .4moa OBR or anything, but it'll be serviceable.
>>31585445
GAP 10 is a 308 gas gun made by you guessed it G.A. Precision
>>31585509
>8 fucking meme months

Can you faggots stop using MOA as if it changes at distance? It fucking doesn't. Its a measure of angle, and is constant for the same weapon. 1" MOA at 100 yards is the same fucking thing as 2" at 200 yards.
fucking autists.
No-one has suggested that MOA changes, you imbecile.
>>31585713
Might as well throw your money into a fire because in 8 months that'll be illegal to buy.
>>31585426
oh snap son
>>31585812
I REFUSE TO BELIEVE
>>31585717
Nope.
Bullets do things like yaw and rotate around the center of gravity, not always the geometric center.
A rifle that is under 1 MOA at 100 can easily open up to higher MOA as the distance increases. Some have also reported the opposite happening.

Getting 1MOA at 100 yards is not the same as getting 1MOA at 1000 yards. In a vacuum, yes, but the longer a bullet is in flight the more it is disrupted by wind and other variables. This is why BC is so terribly important at distance.
>>31585930
It's just CTR shitposting. Ignore them.
>>31585426
Vortex makes good optics.
>>31583641
>price never goes up
The prices literally always go up immediately after a Democrat wins the presidency.
It makes little sense, but they always do.
>>31585953
lol poorfag
>>31585938
>1MOA at 100 yards is not the same as getting 1MOA at 1000 yards
It is exactly the same thing, you evidently don't know how MOA is calculated.
1moa@1000y is a 10" diameter.
>>31585996
Nigger can you read?
I said GETTING 1moa.
>>31585981
I mean, yeah, compared to Steiner or Swarovsky, or other German glass, sure.
Vortex's Razor or Viper HS line are priced in the Burris/Luepold/Bushnell range.
>>31585996
Quick check, if you and your rifle put every bullet into a 1" circle at 100 yards, do you feel safe in saying that you can do the same in hitting 10" at 1000 yards?
>>31585953
Yeah I actually like them even though my SCAR killed a strike eagle twice lel. PTR is good too, but since they're both budget brands (in a good sense) there's a crowd of poorfags that can only afford those and will act like there's nothing better in the world because anything more expensive and better is unnecessary

>>31585938
>but the longer a bullet is in flight the more it is disrupted by wind and other variables.
1 MOA is still 1 MOA, it doesn't change, there is no "after the fact". If you want to talk about how gravity from the mun and and the Coriolis Effect cause your bullet to do crazy shit its a separate subject not to be used with the premise of MOA accuracy.
Its like saying a yard is 3 feet, but 10 yards isn't always 30 feet because "my yard sticks aren't exactly the same length"
>>31586016
He wasn't wrong.
>>31586046
That's not the argument. 1 MOA is still 1 MOA.
>>31586071
C'est le guerre.
>>31586094
No, that's a 540.
>>31586110
You are an idiot.
Once again, to spell it out for you, GETTING 1moa equivalency accuracy at 100m is not the same as GETTING 1moa equivalency accuracy at 1000m because a bullet is subject to external variables.
1MOA is 1MOA is 1MOA no matter the distance but when you put things in between said distance it does not translate 1 to 1 ballistically.
I don't understand what you don't understand about this.
>>31586110
>>31586147

>because a bullet is subject to external variables.
None of which are relevant when discussing "which of these 308 rifles should i get".
If you got an F model then you will have some luck with a DMR "build". I have had great luck with mine, I dont think you will have as good of luck with an AR-10 in the same price range. Save the $$ and get a good optic.

Also what kind of faggot does one need to be to put a shellholder cock sleeve on a mag fed semi rifle?
Did he just stop one day and think "oh em gee what if there's a barbarian horde and my last mag is empty, well I could of course carry an extra mag, but then again I could refill eight rounds off a shellholder, that would be cool as shit"?
>>31586032
Glass has gotten alot better for the price in the last 15 years. So unless you are military or LEO a vortex will be just fine. Learning how to shoot is much for important than buying meme optics whose benefits will be irrelevant to 99 percent of shooters in the world

Other than blowing up your rifle with modern 30.6
>>31582730
what kind of groups do you get with your PTR91 ??
If they are good, then it should do fine.
Less than 1.5 MOA would be good.
>>31589408
Depends on what type of ammo, same as any other rifle
1 moa with 20 dollar ammo, that being said, most PTR owners aren't faggots who baby their rifles so most of us are shooting surplus or steel cased in which case it can get 2-3.5
>>31585509
Just do a Mega Maten build. It's about 1200 less and you're shooting the same MOA.
Prebuilt rifle prices will always be cancer.
>>31589422
I'd feel a lot more confident if PTR owners would post a couple of 5 round groups when they claim 1moa. The PTRs trigger and lack of a rotating/locking bolt are always in the back of my mind.
>>31589742
Probably because PTR owners actually like shooting their guns rather than showing everyone how their overpriced stock rifle was "worth it"
>>31585930
The extreme steps taken by this administration under farcical statutory pretexts that don't even pass the smell check, much less satisfy the standards of sound administrative law jurisprudence makes it clear that a Republican Congress could do nothing against a foaming-at-the-mouth anti-fun president with SCOTUS in the pocket, as will be the case if Hillary Clinton wins.
