In for got an email from Matt D saying he might have accidentally sent me a 7.62 SF3P so I'm going to have to check when I get home this afternoon.

Also 4 weeks later and LaRue still hasn't shipped MBT. Life is hurting right now.

What is that style of foregrip called?

How is it better/different than the 'vertical handle' foregrip?
>>
>>31580238
I'm clearly not PSI
>>
>>31580262
It's magpuls AFG (angled foregrip). It acts as more of a hand stop than a vertical grip. It adds girth to the forend for thumb-over-bore.

I really don't know much about AR terminology or technical stuff.

What is thumb-over-bore and why is it helpful? I think holding that kind of angled grip would be more comfortable than a vertical one, just looking at how recoil force would act on the wrist.

thumb-over-bore is when you grip the fore end with your thumb resting over the top of said fore end. It's just a different way of holding the rifle that some think gives you better control when shooting. And yes, it really is just for making it more comfortable, and it's just a personal preference. some like vertical grips, some like angled, some like none at all.

Are the Magpul MBUS pretty decent or is it worth shelling out for the pro? Other suggestions welcome of course.

I've also got a Trijicon Accupoint 3-9x on my Tikka T3 that I'd like to use on my AR so I'm thinking of getting some QD offset rings for it and getting a 1913 rail for my T3, is this feasible or should I get a separate set of 1" rings for my durr rifle and just live with the rezeroing?

Yes.

The mag itself is decently reliable, I'd say on par with D&H aluminum mags

However the integrated coupling tends to snag and they've got a baseplate as fat as a gen2 Pmag. They're less than ideal.

I'm thinking I'm going to have to take it to a gunsmith. From what I've read some barrels come apart easily, some don't come off even with two grown men and a breaker bar. >also what exactly is wrong with carbine length on a 16"?

It's not the end of the world, but it's mildly overgassed for 16" due to the extra dwell time.
Generally, with the port closer to the chamber, you get higher pressures which results in more wear on pretty much everything as well as a bit more felt recoil.
There are only advantages to getting the longest gas length that still allows your rifle to cycle reliably.

It's made by Colt Canada in Kitcher. It's their C8 IUR (integrated upper receiver). That particular model in the picture seems to have the heavy 14.5" barrel. I've got an actual C8A3 15.7" heavy cold-hammer forged barrel with the thicker chrome and the tapered bore (it's actually tighter near the muzzle, I didn't think it was real until I visited the Colt Canada factory). That thing is really, really accurate.

something variable if you're into that. ill probably put an acog on the KAC rail rifle someday, but I'd prefer an ECOS so rip my bank account. wont happen for a while.

Wouldn't doubt that. My last two paychecks before election day is getting all the thing that are always in short supply: mags, ammo, and receivers (can't afford complete at the moment) in that order.

How's your 0.05" eye relief?
>>
>>31584217

Why did you trade MRO for that POS?
>>
>>31584763
because the MRO was a glare factory and the SRS looks cooler and has a bigger FOV
>>
>>31584781

Really? Even my PA poordot doesn't have glare at most angles. Glad I didn't get the MRO.

>>31584756
I don't own one but I've shot it. It was fucking great, literally the best reticle. I've shot a ta33 and it was ok, didn't care for the horseshoe tho

mro picks up a lot of reflection on the rear lens at certain angles. SRS is heavy but its performed well so far. thought about getting a T2 but im too much of a trijicon fanboy

Horseshit is garbage, chevron is undeadable and the housing is less visible than an Aimpoint.
>>
>>31584837

The PA reflects the rear lens into the front lens only at like one angle, so you can actually see the emitter, but it's 100% usable at all angles. Honestly, it's pretty fucking good for a cheap dot.

MRO got such a bad rep though, glare, fish eye, zoom.
>>
>>31584847
idk i like ecos the best. i have a chevron now and it's alright.
>>
>>31584801
kek, i was betting you would have one first
>>
>>31584889
kek what mod ya want?
>>
>>31584847
ive had a handful of acogs and theyve always been chevrons. ive always been kind of curious about the horseshoe but thats a lot of money to spend on something im unsure if id like.

>MRO got such a bad rep though, glare, fish eye, zoom.

yeah. for the price point tho i'd consider possibly owning one again for a future build. it wasn't really difficult to live with, just non-ideal.

gonna use a war upper and hoping for a kac lower.
more of an spr inspired build.
>>
>>31584944

going with an actual clone build is a rabbit hole that few come out of alive. Mk12 inspired builds are awesome

were the larue pins a super tight fit on your lower

I bought two non-attachy transparent smoke ones last week, haven't had a chance to shoot them yet. They seem to load up completely fine and fit okay into my Type 63 mag rig, the ridges are kinda weird though. I would never ever buy the attachy ones because that strikes me as a terrible idea and I know they couldn't possibly fit the mag pouches.
I can report later on how they feed, I guess.... I'll likely forget if there's no issues but if they give me trouble I'll be whining like a siren.
