If a full size pistol doesn't have at least 17 rounds of 9mm it's worthless and probably garbage. Like the HK VP9.

Subcompact is all I carry these days, and I carry 10+10+1 9mm. 21 rounds doesn't feel like a lot, but considering my .40 P229 carried 25 with a spare mag, it feels fine.

Anything less is just cutting it short. I wouldn't be able to stand carrying a P938 if it meant having like 13 rounds to work with.

I never have less than 2 magazines, so losing a round or two doesn't bother me, if I have a gun I know I can do well with.

That being said my favorite is my FNX which has outstanding capacity for a .45

My carry is a P239 in 9mm with 2 10rd mags.

Also, they make nice handles. Awkward handles for shooting, but very effective for clocking someone in the head.

Only acceptable if you carry a spare mag. 8 rounds is what you get out of a full sized 1911. Just keep a spare mag with you. Or cc it. It would be much more acceptable as a cc instead of as a car gun. I know you might be under 21 or waiting for your ccw, but cc something asap. I'm still waiting on my ccw, fucking clark county and their 120 day waiting period.

Those few times a person would end up pulling the trigger in defense very seldom escalate beyond the first or second shot, that's the point a perpetrator surrenders, runs away, or dies.

I mean, even a 5 shot .38 snub is seen as viable defensive weapons, so I'm thinking, if you're at least at .380ACP or higher, and your capacity is at least 5 or larger, you have a weapon that cuts the mustard.

There's flush fit 17rd mags for the CZ. MecGar makes a bunch of flush fitting 17rd mags for older pistols, even old 5900 series S&W can compete with a Glock in capacity when using MecGars

They make 15rd magazines for the Hi-Power
17rd magazines for the S&W 5900 series, the CZ75, the Jericho and the 92FS, etc.
They also make 18rd flush mags for the 92FS. They make a 20rd mag for the 92FS but it doesn't fit flush.

Compact .40, 15 extended and 10 standard. I wish I had more of the standard magazines because 15s without the grip extensions stick out like dog dicks. 10 sits flush and is comfortable to carry.

There are AWB era 10rd mags, and I think MecGar make AWB sized mags for a lot of guns.
There are also some earlier S&W designs with lower capacity.

Otherwise you could simply load 10 in any mag. Optionally put a pin or block under the follower so it doesn't go further down than 10.
