The next day you're sleeping in your bed as usual. You don't have to work until later in the day and as usual you're going to sleep in as late you can. You haven't forgotten about taking KSG out shooting however and neither has she. You feel something shake you.

[KSG-Chan : A New Hope Part 5]

You hike up the mountain your usual spot, kicking away the small mountain of spent shotgun hulls from previous trips up here trying to get KSG to function reliably.

Finally, you shoulder her and you start racking and pulling the trigger, the stout recoil from the compact shotgun knocking at your shoulder with each flurry of buckshot pellets you let lose into whatever unlucky tree you take aim at. You shoot her dry, you reload, you shoot her some more, you reload. Finally before you even realize it you fire off your last shell and go into the box to find you're all out.

"Wow.. It looks like you're finally working as advertised." You make the light, teasing jab. But you notice that KSG is quiet as she hauls herself up onto the shooting bench you leave up on that mountain top and sits.

"What's wrong? You're not malfunctioning anymore..? That should be a good thing right?"

"What? You did? When?" You struggle to remember a stuck shell, a double feed or anything else and come up blank.

KSG finds an empty hull laying on the table and silently she unzipped her shorts open just enough to push the empty case into her pants.

In order for the CZ-858 (semi-auto version of vZ.58) to be Non-Restricted (like a manually-operated firearm or single-shot), it needs a barrel length of about 18.5" or so. Because it's a self-loading centerfire, if it has a barrel length of less than 18.5", then it's a Restricted firearm. Still easily attainable (I got my Restricted license at 18 years old), but Restricted firearms cannot be used anywhere but a shooting range, and cannot be left out of sight in your vehicle legally. A Non-Restricted rifle or shotgun can be left in your vehicle out of sight with ammo NEARBY but not IN the firearm.

Anyways, the Non-restricted CZ-858 has a barrel that looks comically long, therefor I laughed my ass off at the picture because I get the joke. To be fair though, we CAN get normal-sized CZ-858s in Canada, but as stated, they're Restricted. The SKS with its 20" barrel is Non-Restricted so can be kept in a vehicle, can be shot in the woods provided it's far enough away from any house or home, of course taken to a shooting range, etc. Restricted firearms can ONLY be taken DIRECTLY to a shooting range or gunsmith and DIRECTLY back. If you're caught with a Restricted firearm in your vehicle while going through drive-thru or something, then you'll likely end up arrested, with your firearms taken away, your license taken away, and perhaps a gun ban for X-amount of years.

We have a ways to go before we un-fuck the gun laws that the Libs put in place. Give it time. Trudeau j.r. is a roadbump to be sure, but we were making some headway with Harper. Hopefully the next PM will be Conservative. We got the long-gun registry scrapped, hopefully we'll soon get rid of the mag limits, and one day, perhaps civilians will be able to legally carry firearms, not to mention self defence with a firearm won't nearly take your freedom.

Which Doom?

Doom 3, despite being the worst doom, might be the best doom to write in since there is somewhat characterization and plot and it's not all rip and tear.

I think it would be difficult trying to write the story around DOOM or Doom 2016.
