I want to get some wooden grips for my CZ 83 like the ones pictured. I've heard that they split from the recoil though. Have yours held up okay? Some people have said that those whose grips split had the screws over-tightened. Just wanted to get some feedback before I dropped $75 for them.

Bought mine from Grips4U, they've held up well, but I haven't shot it a lot since replacing the grips, though.

Feels pretty good, if a bit thick compared to the original plastic grips

Really good and really under-rated.

Out of what you stated, Mk II and Mk III hi powers, and CZ82s are really nice, the CZ82/83s better for concealed carry if youre willing to find a holster.

The CZ75s you should be careful of, not in a bad way though. Just change out the springs and buy a new slide stop since those break easily and the one you get may be close to its end. But if you like them get one.

Note that a lot of these guns are coming in from Israeli police who decided to upgrade and some may be beaten up a bit more than others since some departments may have been using really hot submachine gun ammo in the past, so if you're wanting to use one for CCW then check the head spacing via a gunsmith or a no-go gauge.

It's a neat gun right until the moment something shits the bed (it will if you actually shoot the thing) and you get to experience the joy of trying to get spare parts to fit and failing, because the dimensions are all over the fucking place, and when you get them to fit the gun doesn't work anymore because tolerance stacking, so it's back to the drawing board for you.
It's annoying enough if you have a complete armorer's set and the gun you work on isn't yours. Without that - fuck that noise.

The 52 was a fucking terrible gun for 7.62 Tok, because they took a gun meant for 9x19 and shoehorned a new round into it, with all the complications that entailed. It's not any stronger than a TT, in fact it's weaker in critical areas. On top of that, its ergonomics are beyond shit, worse than the TT that came out two decades prior.

Not sure about the ergos, I always found the Tok too thin to be really comfortable.

Other than that, the 52 is complete garbage compared to it, especially considering it came out 20+ years later.
Dangerously compromised chamber, flimsy roller assembly that beats itself to death and/or cracks the frame at a low round count, firing pin that shatters when you look at it wrong, decocker that doubles as a second trigger, not drop safe, heel mag release, no slide release...
The whole design should have been scrapped for being hilariously outdated, and the hasty transition to 7.62x25 just added insult to injury (or injury to insult, in this case). I hope the Kratochvíl brothers burn in hell for the whole CZ 50/52/70 clusterfuck.

I guess it depends on what you want in a gun. If you just want something that will work even if it falls in a manure, has a big ass capacity and will cost you less than a X-Box, this is not the gun for you.

The committee that decided the internal design of the CZ-82 should have been taken out back and show. I will never, ever understand why in fucking hell a slide stop spring needs to be inserted into a cocksucking trigger guard pin so it can be sheared off when you decide to do some detailing. Also, I can dig the attempt at an ambi-mag release, but that clamshell bullshit was not the way to do it.

Sure it's the best former military gun from a recreational standpoint, which would be similar to saying a mid-high tier production 1911 could be as well. The 210 kinda falls short in the mud and guts department
