Get the fixed mag from Franklin Armory or that other catch lock thing. Do not register. Once you do it is a pain to get it off the list if they ever really take you off anyway. Use the less than permanent compliance devices so you can keep it how you want in your home and only comply at the range.

Once it is on "the list" you cannot transfer or sell it or even hand it down to your kids. That said though when confiscation comes, if you register it, just hand them the registered lower then dig up your 80%.
