It pains me to agree with you on the 941.
>>
I'm just mad that the Jericho/Baby Eagle doesn't have a 10mm version with the full-size barrel and no rail.

Speaking of, is it just me or does the 941 just look ugly as fuck with a rail?
>>
>>31541651
A 10mm Jericho would be the best shit ever.

Honestly I consider it to be one of the only steel frame handguns that can somewhat pull off a rail, that being said no rail will always look nicer no matter what gun.

Yes. It do. I just didn't want to be the one to say it first.

Para P14-45 gets my vote. I mean it's got that 1911 look without the plasticy looking lower like the STI 2011 guns have (I love the STI wide-body guns) but they fucked it up.

The grip is hilariously wide, the whole gun is incredibly heavy due to the all metal construction and to top it all off when they widened the grip they couldn't figure out how to do it right so they took the easy way out and cut chunks out of the frame to fit the trigger bar. When they did that they covered it up by adding little plastic tabs to the grip panels which cheapen the whole gun's aesthetic somewhat. Oh and the magazines feed lips are deceptively sharp when you're pushing in the last couple of rounds.

Beretta 92
Walther P38
Walther PPK
Pretty much anything with a slide mounted safety
>>
>>31541612
Seriously? Odd. It's one of the few handguns that's a full size that actually fits my hand.

Plus it's sexy as fuck (though norail is sexiest)
>>
>>31542083
I'm not big on a p38 but the beretta's are great man. Even the ppk if you want something small as hell
>>
>>31541719
Para pre Cerberus group was good. A real shame what happened to them.

Both of my lugers are pretty unconformable when I shoot it with both of my large hands (modern grip). Feels fine shooting one handed though.

Kinda disappointing.

Pretty sure that was the intention. I don't think I'd even bother trying it two handed.
>>
>>31543528
The ppk/s variant has one extra round and a slightly longer frame that helped me quite a bit.

>>31543544
Why? I want a red9 so fucking bad and will throw down cash almost instantly if I saw a nice one at a gunshow.

What is your issue with the feel/function of the Jericho, anon?
Weight, balance, accuracy, ergonomics?

I love everything about mine except the slide safety, which they've apparently fixed recently.

And if I'm being honest, the mag release could be better. I've never found anything better than HK's paddle release.

>>31541651
I disagree. It is sleeker without the rail, but ugly? Far from it.

941 bros help me out because Google is not providing the answers I need.

FFL that I work at has a Jericho 941 F in .40S&W that someone traded in and I can probably grab for a great price. Only thing is that I hate .40. Seeing that the dimensions are the same, would I be able to purchase a 9mm barrel and recoil spring/guide rod and just swap it out and have a 9mm Jericho? Or is it not that simple
>>
>>31544551
EAA is the only place I've found 9mm barrels and they don't export to the U.S. and last I checked gunbroker only has a .41AE barrel.
>>
>>31544578
But if I buy a 9mm barrel and spring/rod it will work? That's the greatest news I've heard all week
>>
>>31544551
Not sure on the Jericho but in general most 40 to 9 conversion barrels have the bore off-center.

Reason being is, as you surmised, most companies tend to use the same slide and frame for their 9, 357 Sig and 40 pistols.

Problem is the 40 being a bigger round the extractor and ejector are spaced out further.

You could do a straight swap, and it should fire w/o issue, but you may have extraction and ejection failures. Ejection issues are more likely.

Depending on the Jericho's construction, you may be able to replace the extractor. I don't know how easy or hard to replace or if it's even possible.

Look into it.
>>
>>31544629
Yeah they're pretty interchangeable, just make sure you get the right length barrel. May need some minor machining and I think a new ejector, don't quote me but the swap is pretty painless.

Pic related. Two Glocks, one in 9 and one in 40. The ejector on the 9 is bent inward so it can hit the case as it's extracted and kick it out. If you just threw a 9 barrel in there it tends to miss the ejector and lead to double feeds or poor ejection.

seems like the extractor is just a three piece extractor/spring/pin assembly so that shouldn't be too bad assuming I can get the parts. Let's see about the ejector

>Red 9
It's a beautiful piece to marvel at, not one to hold. Ergonomics non-existent, high bore axis.

That said, it's a piece of history, so pick one up if you can. Just don't expect to be comfortable.
>>
>>31544769
I would worry more about the ejector than anything else. Chances are the extractor won't be an issue.
>>
>>31543544

are you shooting without the butt-stock?
>>
>>31541612
I hate that I don't like that gun. It's /comfy/ AF, but I just hate the way it shoots for some reason. Meanwhile I love to shoot CZ-75s... go figure.

>>31543528
This, too. It's comfy, but just not fun to shoot.

Damn shame cause my favorite pistols tend to be DA/SA, metal framed, hammer fired guns.

Pistol grip shotguns for me; they look extremely kickass, but they also beat the fuck out of my wrists
>>
>>31544806
Seconding this. Love the look, the history, the importance in handgun design. But it feels like ass.

There are a few guns I feel that way about. I adore the Beretta 92, but the slide safety makes the slide feel awful to rack and I somehow manage to get my fingers caught in it, which I've never had happen to me with any other gun.

The Browning Hi-Power is a great gun with an awful, awful trigger.
>>
>>31544056

Most people hate how slim the slide is. I have decent sized hands and I can't grip the slide for shit.

If it is original production then it is fine. Lugers are the real greyzone because they only consider artillery models and lugers that were actually issued with stocks to be exempt.

The G3 is very cool, but holy fuck this thing was not designed for anyone under 6'5''. Pray that your model has the paddle release if you're a manlet, otherwise you'll need Aye Aye fingers to release the mag with the button release.

It's heavy as hell, and the charging handle is not at all natural to engage. Gloves are recommended if you want to do this repeatedly.

The mag insertion method is some nebulous combination of AK and AR insertion, where you have to rock it in a bit, then shove it in AR style the rest of the way. The telescoping stock makes it look badass, but is in no way comfortable to shoulder, at all.

Anon from earlier in the thread asking about conversions. After poking around I've had the opportunity to be a 941 R for $350, seems to be some wear on in a couple spots but overall in decent condition for the price. Is something like this a deal breaker for you guys?

hey that's my setup

is that a cloak tuck 2 or 3? I have a 2
surplus jericho from the aim surplus deal like a year ago

my firing pin stop plate keeps popping out at random after 5-10 rounds. It's fucking annoying and makes the gun useless for anything other than careful range plinking.

Which really chafes my balls. It was my favorite. I love the feel, the weight, the light recoil, the lines and curves.
And the slide being "too slim" or whatever is garbage.

I had all new springs put in which made the slide a lot tougher to pull back but it still isn't an issue.
>>
>>31547978
Although that price isn't terrible, the amount of pitting in that picture may be indicative of more inside the weapon; I would personally hold off, but I'm pretty picky myself

Not a fix it yourself according to the seller. It seems like there might be surface rust under some of the grips otherwise. I'm just worried that I won't ever find an old school IMI 941 R again. I really want the decocker
>>
>>31548074
Ah, yeah I'd ask for a look at the internals if you're serious about it. And a better look at the barrel. The 941 I bought looked like it had a good barrel, but the angle of the picture made it seem less worn.

Took mine to the range with a 9mm barrel.

Would not completely go into battery and jammed on the last round. It was happier in 7.62x25

Also, dry-firing *will* break the original firing pins

Oh yeah, that roller action feels weird in recoil
