A friend and I accidentally got a guy kicked out of the range.

Dude was showing us his nugget and violated the range rule of opening a case in the wrong spot.
Kicked him and his son out before they even got to shoot.
Felt kinda bad.

Then some jackass did 2 mag dumps at the pistol range and almost shot us when his gun jamed.
Dude pointed it sideways and a round went off.
He got kicked out immediately.

Says "no rapid fire" everywhere dude was a fucking moron with a fat GF

I can't afford it anymore. Can't afford a gym membership either.

I went to the range today. I was especially excited to finally get to shoot a full magazine through my Melior New Model after my search for a replacement extractor ended. It extracted fine, but now I'm getting what appears to be light strikes. I need to figure out if it's the firing pin or the new brand of ammo I tried today.

RO's at my range yell at people for that all the time, but to kick them out? That seems a bit extreme.

I took my wife out but she didn't like shooting my new .40 sub2000 very much. She did ok with my buckmark... Then it got dark... I went back this evening to try to chrono some 208gr bthp 300blk rounds but it was too dark and I just wasted two shots... Picked up some good brass though....

Went with my Mosin, Enfield, Walther PP, Nagant Revolver and Mauser my dad bought me last christmas.

Was back in town for college so dad and I took the Mosin out (Just had the scope mounted) and we both shit ourselves over how fun it was to shoot. Pic related

Main reason I took my Berthier was to chronograph my reloads. None of my books have data for 8mm Lebel. I hit absolutely right first time, 40gr of 4895 with a 208gr bullet gave me a velocity of 2200fps. Right between the specs of Balle M and Balle D, which is where I wanted it.

I just put a new front sight on it, so I needed to adjust the windage and file it down to get it right. It's right on now. Still have the original, but it was too short. A lock screw broke today, which is weird since it wasn't too tight and there's no force on it ever, so I'll buy one when I'm in Virginia next weekend.

I checked out a new indoor gun range built in a former cinema that opened up Still before the grand opening so things are still getting set up but they have a beautiful facility from what I've seen. Tried out my 10/22 to verify I put back the trigger assembly correctly, previously had FTEs every 5 rounds. And also tried out some new clips for my enfield. Learned that I am a terrible shot on both guns.

I get a sinking feeling everytime I hear about the fact that people go to ranges that have RO's

What the fuck. So you just sit at the bench like a good little boy and shoot paper at 200 yards while some RO breathes down your neck and watches you to make sure you don't use your weapons to their full capabilities?
Not gonna do any action shooting drills? No run and gun? I couldn't stand that anons. I couldnt stand have the freedom to own any gun just so some RO can tell me how I get to use it.


But yes I did go out. Did some night shooting but not being able to see anything else but my target while aiming with my light kinda sucks so I left after a box for each gun.

What is called being responsible? Range I go to had an action training area, which is fine. But if you are just running in the woods, shooting things all willy nilly like an idiot, then your being an unsafe irresponsible jerk and shouldn't own a gun.

Also more likely it's a spring that's gone bad. 60+ year old metallurgy and parts with a designed service life of only 2000 rounds often combine to make your range days short.
Thankfully springs are cheap.

I have an acreage so I usually just shoot here, but our range is outside of a pretty mellow town so I have never actually seen the RO there in the several times I have visited, they just expect you to shoot like a white man, when you shoe up its mowed and maybe a few people puttering around with handguns on the handgun range. I'll go there once in a while to sight in multiple rifles since they already have the 100/200 ready to go, and I would have to mow and measure during the tall grass season for anything longer than 100.

Some people are just so far from anything "remote" they get stuck with a certain range and if their range happens to have high traffic and lots of rules then that's a drag, for me I would move if I was in that dense of a population. I personally am not comfortable being in higher population areas for more than just a visit/vacation. Seems like a disaster waiting to happen, you know, 3 meals from chaos sort of thing.

I have pic related set up at 150 yards because anything longer, the property starts to go over a hill and i run the risk of flying a bullet over the hill, through the woods and into town to grandmothers house

besides that we enjoy blowing up old printers occasionally with binary target or punching through steel with AP or what have you. I have a pallet of printers and lots of empty plastic drums and scrap.

Took my gf to the range and met with a friend for her to shit his guns as well.
It was funny she was shooting consistently wayyyy high until I found out she didn't know what a rear sight was.
