Hi /k/
Nowadays which is the most common in south america/africa/asia: the 47 or the 74?

7.62mm by a long shot.

Seriously, though, it's neither. It's the akm, which is basically an ak 47 with a stamped steel receiver, rather than the milled steel receiver that the ak 47 had.
>>31533021
oh, ok thanks
>>31533021
Not op but what is the difference in quality between the milled receiver and the stamped steel receiver? I'm guessing the milled is higher quality?

Milled receiver lasts longer. A milled AK receiver will outlast everything else on the gun, good for American owners.

Cool another question, which company makes the best AK47 in for US? The only one I've hear of is century arms but I've heard they aren't the best
>>31534101
Arsenal. DDI is next. Stay away from century built AKs or poorfags claiming their WASRs are high tier. WASRs are garbage with tapco trash trigger groups.
>>31534101
>>31534132
I have a WASR and it works fine. I'm not saying its the nicest AK or anything, but it fuckin works fine.
>>31534140
That's nice but an Arsenal or DDI would out preform it.

>>31534140
Cool, I've been looking for an innawoods gun other than my huge Mauser
>>31534132
... you know Arsenal uses Tasco G2 triggers for 922r compliance, right?
I think it's a damn good trigger, very clean break and it's only got a 4.5lb pull. Only thing people will gripe about is the reset (Rob Ski has noted in his SLR107 video that it is similar to a DSA trigger reset), but that's just more of an acclimation issue than anything else.

I'm looking at my SAM7 and SLR104 right now and don't see any tapco markings on them.
>>31534279
He's wrong. Arsenals typically use a "Made in America" Kvar trigger group.
>>31534148
Thats nice. But its a fucking AK dude. I'm not exactly out to shoot gnats. Its a beater rifle.
>>31534279
Yeah, I stand corrected. I don't know where I heard that, but other dude is right. Did some digging and they use Kvar 2-stage triggers, which are apparently held in an even lower regard than G2s.
Pardon my ignorance, still new to AKs in general.

If it's a junk rifle made from shit perhaps.
>>31534336
>Kvar is lower than crapco
okay bud.
>>31534355
People on forums don't seem to like the 2 stage Kvar that Arsenal uses, at any rate. A lot of people talk about replacing them with G2s and seem happy to have done so.

If there's one thing tapco is actually decent at, it's making the G2 trigger group.

So as a newer gun owner and a someone looking for their first ak, does this stuff really matter that much? I don't think I'll be customizing it that much for now until I rake in more dough
