if its "enemy" hardware it implies im part of a faction... So odds are the moment i bring it back it'll be taken from me and refitted, re-crewed, and re-tasked to where it needs to be. Anything else like taking my crew and going for piracy or to sell it will likely end up in a mutiny and me being detained or spaced out an airlock...

If im some rebel officer though and i hijacked a loyalist ship then by all means if i can crew and operate it i doubt the rebellion would see any reason not to allow me to utilize it.

In the prequel series, Enterprise, they mentioned how a Photonic torpedo (the predecessor to TOS-era torpedoes) had a sort of dial-a-yield warhead which could

So consider that the Photon torpedoe replaced it, and by Wrath of Khan, it was a Mark IV torpedo, I'd say that shit could take out Chicago-sized targets.
