Also, they do have a few planes and if you are going to leave the airbase alone, you'll allow them to dump their ammo onto your hardware. It is best to neutralize it as soon as possible.

Also, they do have some form of naval protection, even if very little.

The airbase IS guarded and there are urban areas in front of it.

Those 5 men would be in a bit of a suicidal mission. I dont see them surviving on their own. Stealth isnt as easy as it seems. People are very good at noticing things off place, even more guards that have been in the same post for ages.

Finding men to do that would be quite difficult. Private military doesnt really do that sort of thing.

Another way could just be to Trojan Horse them. Buy a warehouse on some land, fence it off, and assemble the materiel and forces. You could also use this as a supply depot halfway through the invasion when you reach it.

Then just get in position and strike from the outside and inside.

Also the Army has a Presidential Guard unit as well as a bunch of "specialist" (read: cooks) ranks so the actual fighting force wouldn't be able to mobilize in full.

Could 100 doritos-stained whites guys beat 500 poorly trained African infantrymen? Only time will tell.

Plan:

Two points:

Firstly, HIV is mostly a problem of southern/central Africa. It's not a big deal in Gambia.

Secondly, expect to be invaded by the African Union.

I'm not sure how on edge the guards in Gambia are seeing as I don't know jack about westren African political situation or if they are threatend by any violent groups but a Dutch reporter has snuck into different military bases on separate occasions just to prove how easy it is to sneak into these "highly secured" areas while he was just wearing some camo clothing bought at the store

Even if they have been guarding the same position for ages but there is no threat of an attack they will eventually start to slack not become more keen in noticing things that are off

I picked them for being good weapons for the job that have also been widely used in Africa. So along with the ammo we bring in our trucks, hopefully more would also be available for purchase or capture. Especially once we have the airfield captured for resupply. But you're right that it could potentially become an issue.
