K-State anon back again. In the last two threads we created the second poster in pic related as a response to the first poster in pic related.

Yesterday I passed out response papers to professors who have the anti-gun posters on their doors.

Today I gave away my posters, the response papers, safety tip fliers, and a FAQ sheet in the plaza outside of the university student union.

Most of the responses were good. A lot of the people seemed willing to listen to what I had to say regardless of where they were on the issue. I was able to give out a lot of information and a decent number of people took posters.

I am getting real tired of the fearmongering from the anti-carryfags. Only a fraction of students at yout typical university are even allowed to buy a handgun and even fewer will have a CC permit. Besides, myself and many other people already carry in restricted areas with no consequence.
>>
>>31514282

About the only thing that could have been better is suggesting that it's bigoted to restrict things because they make people uncomfortable. There are people who arrive at college uncomfortable around minorities or homosexuals, after all, would Professor Nels like to see minorities and homosexuals banned from campus to appease anyone who might feel discomforted? College is about broadening your viewpoints and stepping outside your comfort zone. This is true for any right, no matter how it makes people feel.

I agree. Unfortunately, I was limited to 300 words or less.

>College is about broadening your viewpoints and stepping outside your comfort zone.

The problem is that the people you're trying to persuade by using this argument have the exact opposite view: college is about making people find their "safe space" and maintain an impervious echo chamber. They literally see the broadening of viewpoints as a bad thing, and they'll even outright say it.
>>
>>31514500
>College is about broadening your viewpoints and stepping outside your comfort zone.
No anon, it's changed to about learning others' triggers and not stepping into their safe space

I find it funny that they think there were just magically no guns on campus before, and all of the sudden now there will be an influx of deranged unhinged people who if you bump into them or say their sports team isn't good they'll blow you away.
Really speaks to how they think.

Meanwhile I'm sitting here in Utah with 15 year old campus carry with literally zero issues.
>>
>>31513525
Would you consider doing this at KU?

Anti-gunners are losing the culture war. Hard.

My University's Rifle and Pistol teams are overflowing with new people. Everyone in my hall wants in on it, including international students.

It's come to the point where I can freely talk about guns and people are either very curious or give zero shits. The de-facto prohibition on even talking about it is basically gone, and I'm in a pretty liberal area.

Yeah, I know, holy shit, what a dumb fucking job, but it was literally the only opening for deputies to get outside the jail when I got my badge. To be clear, I am NOT a campus cop, I work for the Sheriff's Office, but am stationed at the college.

Anyway, I've had a lot of students ask me about owning firearms and firearms laws. A lot of people, especially women, have been asking me about how to get SFA (self-defense act) licenses, and what gun they recommend to carry.

There are a LOT of kids that are interested in becoming gun-owners, even if they aren't really getting into the "gun culture" like we are. It's absolutely astounding, and I'm convinced that the media completely blacks out reporting on the number of young people who are receptive to firearm owners.

In an unrelated question, some kids want a sponsor for a pistol team and have approached be to help out. I've never done anything like that before, and am wondering if anyone knows anything about it?
>>
>>31516602
Guy you replied to here.

I'm a first year at my university, so I'm not too familiar with the ins-and-outs of how the club works, but I know some stuff.

The most important thing is obviously range space. Our coach is the member of a real cool range about a 20 minute jaunt from the university. We have to concede space to any club members who show up, but other than that we get free reign on the range so long as we sweep up the brass when we're done.

Funding is the second thing. The NRA gives us some money, we get some money from the university, some from some other group that I have forgotten, and then some from Membership dues.

As for procuring hardware, make sure you can get a good supply of .22lr going, and get hand-me-downs, used pieces in acceptable condition, and a few new pieces for people who are actually going to compete. We're using old hand-me-down Walther GSPs, and in my case an incredibly old High-Standard since being a leftie is a curse and they keep on forgetting to get a proper left handed GSP grip.

Every school is going to have different policies on how clubs should be run. Our policy is basically to have the club renounce any legal affiliation with the school, take our money, promise not to haze, and fuck off.

The entire process will be much easier if you can get people who are big into gun culture to help you out. Makes teaching easier, makes getting hardware on hand easier, and makes everyone safer when 2-3 people are on call to stop the retard who's swinging the gun around or about to fire without earpro.

so,

>figure out how much money you can extract from the school
>know the school's policy
>figure out range arrangements
>figure out financials
>figure out ammo supply
>figure out guns
>recruit gun enthusiasts before you jump in

It's a hard fucking process, but I admire you for being interested in giving it a try.
>>
Why am I going to school in NY. Fucking permits.

Constitutional carry is great. Kansas Bill of Rights says:

Individual right to bear arms; armies. A person has the right to keep and bear arms for the defense of self, family, home and state, for lawful hunting and recreational use, and for any other lawful purpose; but standing armies, in time of peace, are dangerous to liberty, and shall not be tolerated, and the military shall be in strict subordination to the civil power.

There was one guy who just hung around the table and said the most autistic shit to people.

>be talking to girl who's on the fence
>giving her some factual information in a calm and friendly way
>guy suddenly jumps in out of nowhere
>"You know why the police use hollow points."
>stare at him
>"Because it'll kill someone better than FMJ."
>try to continue conversation with girl
>he pipes in again
>"You know, I already know all of this stuff. I watch Iraqveteran8888 and nutnfancy."
>friend sitting next to me starts talking to him and begins to walk away from the table
>friend successfully lures him away
>I apologize for his behavior
>continue to talk to girl
>turns out she's a part of some free thinking club on campus
>we have a good discussion about constitutional carry
>we swap numbers
>suddenly the guy returns
>"I already know all about the background check too, because I had to wait four days to buy my Beretta 92."
>she leaves
>mfw this guy hung around for a solid hour saying autistic shit as if he expected us to jerk him off for spouting off information that we already knew
>>
>>31521718
Biggest problem wasn't him hanging around. Biggest problem is that he scared off people with the stuff he said. He also decided to smoke half a pack right next to us.
>>
Best part of the day was when a slightly overweight woman with short hair and multiple facial piercings walked up. I full on expected her to be an anti-gun, but was pleasantly surprised to find that she was a gun owning veteran. She was actually on her way to the veteran's center in the union, and she took a poster to put up their.
>>
>>31521718
It would be nice if he was at least not objectively wrong. Like the FMJ thing. It might be worth adding that hollow points are the most common law enforcement carry because they're far less likely to punch through an assailant or wall or something and hurt innocents. Because that sounds a lot better than 'cuz they kill better'.
