Price per unit will be close enough to be irrelevant long term - 9mm or .45 is far far cheaper than 4.6mm mostly by virtue of being established calibres with lots of competition driving the cost down.

The unit price will be a few hundred dollars different at most, and they'll save more than that well before the end of their lifespan.
