I was out in the woods shooting my pistol and wondered why the slide didn't go back and shot a round to the side hopefully it didn't hit anyone.

When I was 13 I had a Mauser and I was playing with it like a toy, and forgot I had loaded it after I went to the bathroom to piss.
Came back, aimed and fired. Shot a hole through my wall and went into the neighbors yard.
Mom was downstairs and yelled "WHAT WAS THAT?!?!"
as I stammered out of my room that reeked of gunpowder, I yelled back "WHAT?!?!"
But because she was lazy, she didn't come up the stairs, and ended up thinking a car that had just drove by shot some fireworks or something.

I go shooting maybe three times a year. I only shoot 2-300 rounds over all my guns per trip. I have three seperate rifles that need to be zeroed due to new optics or sights. I only own three rifles.

Went to buy ammo one time for my friends new AR-15 and decided the range was too far so we shot into the woods behind the store, got pulled over by police, commented on how cool it was and told us to go home.

I bought a no gunsmithing required scope mount for my 1915 FTR SMLE and it left screw marks on the charging bridge and on top of the chamber.
It doesn't affect the actual shooting but it triggers the partial OCD.

I took the bolt out of my Mauser and wondered what would happen if I dicked with the safety.
I then spent the next ten minutes in a panic trying to re-cock the thing.

I accidentally discharged my hunting rifle within 1/2 foot of my father after deer hunting. I just finished dragging and loading on of my first whitetails and started unloading my rifle in a rush, closed the bolt and expected a *click* but instead was deaf from discharging inside the suv. My dad was in the driver's seat and the round went through the radio

I killed my first animal when I was 8.
Had a bbgun (My father's daisy from the 50's) and was shooting near birds to see how close I could get. Eventually I decided to (que my 8 year old judgement) actually see if I could hit one. I'll never be as brave as those men at Thermopylae. I'll never be as brilliant and passionate as any scientist. I'll never be anything.

- I want to write books or make movies(or both) and make it big so that I'm remembered and loved, so that I can feel as though I'm not a waste.

- I'm hesitant to get involved with anyone because I feel as though a) I am not able to connect with them because they don't understand me or are too vapid or b) they're a bunch of cunts that exist only to ruin my life. Similar reasons why I don't have a girlfriend, with a third reason being that my current self is not worthy of a woman to love me. I'm fat, lazy and awkward with a Down Syndrome face.

Can someone just tell me what the fuck to do with my life already? I keep telling myself to do what I want to do with my life no matter what, but those words feel hollow.

That is my game plan, yes. I'm looking into network administration courses for next semester in Calgary.

I still haven't finished getting all the cosmoline out of my Mosin (first gun), let alone reassembled and shot it. I've even gotten two more guns since then, both of which I've shot multiple times.

I think there's just a very specific mood I have to be in to want to work on the Mosin. Last time I decided to make some progress on it, I ended up in the back yard with only my underwear and boots on in the middle of the day, using a hair dryer on an extension cord and the Sun to melt the cosmoline out of the barrel.

I'm pretty sure the folks in the office building next door got a fun show.

take your mosin apart and take the action, barrel, and trigger assembly to your back yard. hang them up or set them where they can be tilted. get your biggest pot and boil up some water and pour it down the barrel and all over the sights and trigger assembly as many times as you need to get all the cosmo off your rifle, i do this every time. take your magazine body off as well as your bolt, disassemble them and boil them in water for a few minutes, the cosmo will bubble to the top

In college at 23, feel like I wasted my time getting a trade after high school. Should have just joined the military, which I'm going to do as soon as I graduate. Wish I had done a lot of things different...

When my grandfather died, I helped my granny go through his things. I found an old, unmarked, single shot .22s rifle (He might have even made it himself, he was a fabricator for 50 years and was friends with a gunsmith) I could get the bolt to open, so I figured there must be a round inside it. I aimed it at the woods, there's something like 60 acres of empty land back there, and fired off the bullet.

It hit something, ricocheted back, went right past my head and busted a window. In a fit of guilt, embarrassment and panic, I grabbed a walnut and threw it in the window. Granny can't hear very well, so she heard was the glass shattering (barely heard that even) so when she came in the room I told her squirrels were knocking nuts out of the tree, and that's what must have knocked the glass out.

She's had me come by every year after that during the spring to eradicate any squirrels foolish enough to take up residence in her yard. That was 5 years ago, and I've probably shot close to 100 squirrels. Granny has gotten good at cooking squirrel stew, and I have started to look forward to it. Yes, we're country as fuck.

I did find the hole the bullet made, it struck the wall right where it meets the ceiling so it's practically unnoticeable unless you know what you're looking for.

I spend far too much time worrying about SHTF scenarios.

What about checks and balances? Congress is passing all sorts of harmful shit every year and we need the president to veto stuff that shouldn't be put into law, and the supreme court to mark it as unconstitutional if it is.

Electing Clinton would be have a big effect on the supreme court, not to mention it would be putting a democrat president in when we have a democrat congress. Say goodbye to those checks and balances, whatever democrats want they get.

Meanwhile, who has Trump offered as possible nominations? Ms Sykes? She is not perfect, but her presence on the supreme court will be much better for our country long term than letting Clinton nominate. And judges can live and serve lives that long outlive the term or two-terms their nominating president can serve. This is a big issue that needs to be considered.

We went out hunting/plinking out in the woods.
Halfway through we was behind me and all I hear is "I'm so sorry" with tears in his eyes. He put the rifle under his chin and you can guess the rest.

Told everyone he slipped on a branch and fell. Police ruled me out because of the angle of the shot so I didn't have to worry about that.

I drank heavily for a good 2 years after that. The image in my mind is of his face looking so scared and desperate right before it and me reaching out to try and stop him.

Ive shot 9mms and .45s and while I think theyre great, I really never found anything wrong with the .40, I do notice it has a bit more snap but its nothing you can control and I sort of like it
Really I do it because I have no ambition to change it and it works for me, plus .40 is actually always on the shelf where I live. I recommend getting a gun that was designed for .40 like an M@P or USP, and not just built around it. Ive handled some and find them to be a bit better
