What's with all the cheap Turkish guns?

They came here 10 years ago out of nowhere.

And why so fucking many? Are they total shit?

If they're not total shit can you explain without stating:

1:
>I HAVE [X] AND AINT NEVER HAD NO PROBLEM WITH IT

or

2:
>I HAVE [X ] AND JUST LOVE IT

No liberal underdog emotional bullshit.

Well, do the mudslimes make a decent product /k/?

Well since CZ doesn't patent their design, the turks can copy it and give it a few bonuses over the originals. Also turks have been making guns for a long fucking time. Big names out of there are probably a safe bet. Those are the only ones I have experience/knowledge of.
>>
>>31496236
fucking hated those two phrases when I worked at lgs.
>>

Two Turkish gun threads in one day?
>>
>>31496285
>Well since CZ doesn't patent their design,

The CZ is the final form of a family of handguns begun over a century ago.

All the features have been patented long ago and expired.
>>
I hear the Tisas pistols are pretty good.

>>31496236
>and why so fucking many?
Turkey has the third largest firearm industry in the world, directly behind the US and Italy.
>are they total shit?
Some are, some aren't. There's over 150 different brands being imported to the US from Turkey, both under their original manufacturers' names and rebranded to big-name US companies (Remington, S&W, Winchester, Browning, Mossberg)

Hell half of CZ's guns are made in Turkey and imported to the Czech Republic. All of their shotguns are made in Turkey and parts of the Bren are as well.

As to why specifically the recent flood of Turk handguns?
>EU refuses to enforce patents in Turkey
Hence why so many unlicensed copies of things like the S&W 5900 series and BHP.
>CZ never patented the CZ75
Which is why it's being domestically produced in 9 different countries.

>>31496340
I'm sure all the polymer-framed handgun patents (Turkey produces 4 different clones of the P-07 as well as clones of the FNS and Glock, as well as probably others) totally expired "long ago" considering most of the designs are <15 years old.
>>
Turkey makes copies of a bunch of shit, not unlike to China. Unlike China, the quality control seems to be on point, so you're looking at a breddy gud copy of something awesome (Cz, Sig) for cheap because they didn't have to fuck with R&D and they have cheaper production (labor) costs. Worst thing is you may have to deal with proprietary mags.
>>
>>31496236
All I know is they started selling those academy a few years back. I mounted a whatever brand Turkish over/under shotgun and it put a splinter in my cheek.
>>
>>31496445
>Unlike China, the quality control seems to be on point

Honestly not that bad in many Chinese factories. You're operating on information from the 90's, man.

The 1911's and M14's we get in Canada from them are actually better than shit from Springfield Armory (Forged VS cast parts).
>>
>>31496426
>EU refuses to enforce patents in Turkey

This would actually make some sense. Patents expire, EU says fuck it, and all of a sudden hives start buzzing in Turkey. But fuck the EU, they don't buy guns. Let's sell them to the proud USA instead
>>
>>31496236
it's a lot cheaper to hire some roaches to do the work

some are good, brands like zenith actually make stuff on hk tooling
>>
>>31496475
>get Norinco M1A
>have to replace literally every component except barrel and receiver, frequently with SA parts
>"better than shit from Springfield Armory"
lolno.

And the Norinco 1911's are literally-worse-than-fillippino tier.
>>
>>31496507
What about Turkish 1911s?
>>
lol I just learned that Baikal makes firearms along with shipping boxes, medical supplies, and fucking power tools.

I bet all their employees are named George too.

Never handled one, I have no idea.

I do know that while Armscor 1911's are pretty basic-bitch and built to GI sloppy specs, they're at least properly heat treated (unlike RIA and Springfield).

>>
>>31496507
>calling it an M1A
Thats only a springshit armory term the proper term is norinco m14 or m305, whatevers stamped on the receiver. I havent had to replace anything on my m305 and it still shoots greag 5 years on
>>
>>31496639
The few that made it into the US have M1A stamped right next to M305. Not sure why.

But my op rod bent almost immediately (within first 50 rounds), rear sight fell out as I took it out of the box, and the gas plug cracked at the 200rd mark. I've since gutted it and replaced it with either commercial Springfield parts or whatever USGI parts I could get off Numrich.

It is an accurate and reliable rifle though, and I have no doubt it is every bit as accurate as a SA. They have great barrels.

Fuck your rules.

I own a Canik TP9v2 and a Tristar T100, both are pretty much made by the same people.

The Canik is awesome, trigger is great, never had any form of malfunction and I'm about 500 rounds give or take. It's a very comfortable full size 9 and I love to shoot it

The T100 feels and shoots great, the fit is tight and the finish is better than CZs, never had an issue out of it in the 300 odd rounds I've put through it. I'd even carry this gun, it just feels great and sturdy, no rattles when you shake it, I'm also a huge fan of the scale like cocking serrations.

I've owned CZs and witnesses, these turk clones are on par with them, great guns on a budget.

Picked up a tisas 1911, figured for $400 why not? Nothing wrong with the gun, but the standard GI sights leave me wishing I'd just upgraded to a ruger SR1911 instead. Otherwise, no complaints
>>
>>31498169
Same. Fine gun but I'm given to understand Tisas 1911s are a little picky when it comes to mags. Wilson Combat gets high marks.
>>
>>31496995
I kinda want one of those, but I don't really need ANOTHER 9mm pistol when there's so many different guns out there
>>
Has anything unique came out of Turkey? Do they just copy pasta like china?

I like the ST10

They literally cloned the H&K USP9 and replaced the polymer frame with an alloy one and real picatinny acessory rail

LOL RIA= Armscor scro
>>
>>31496236
I can't comment on the cheap Turkish pistols, but the roller-locked guns from MKE are pretty fucking sweet.
>>
>>31496507
The modern ones or those from 20-30 years ago?
The new ones suck dick, the old one ls are still pretty boss
>>
>>31499344
A few shotgun designs that aren't direct Beretta/Benelli knockoffs (even if they're aesthetically similar). T.R. Imports Silver Eagle comes to mind on that (looks sorta like a Montefeltro but has a Browning-style gas piston system).

>>31499614
The Armscor pistols sold in the US have a fully heat-treated frame. The RIA's sold in the US don't. I know they're produced from the same forgings but they're made in different facilities to different standards.

>>31499902
Modern ones are shit, yeah.
>>
>>31496236
They are pretty decent, I had one of the canik CZ clones and one of my buddies has a few too. /k/ doesn't like it because muh feels.
>>
>>31499902
Old ones still had issues with soft bolts/drifting headspace and bad heat treats on some small parts.

Norinco receiver locking lugs were often out of spec and alignment so simply dropping in surplus M14 bolts was not a thing. You always needed to carefully lap them into proper headspace.

Maybe they fixed this with the newer Canadian models but I doubt it since the original tooling they were made with is probably long gone and replaced with reverse engineered tooling.
>>
I know nothing about Turkish handguns, but there are some very good Turkish shotguns, both pump and lever action. Most of the leverguns are sold to Australia. UTAS makes some sweet high capacity shotguns that are superior to Kel-Tec's offerings in the same style.

The UTAS is enormous compared to the KSG.
>>
This is a pretty gud thread. I've always wondered about these guns
>>
>>31500049

The UTS-15 isn't actually turkish. The company that makes it is turkish-owned, but the branch making it is in the states and the gun was designed by S&W
>>
>>31499471
How in the fuck did they get the patent to do that? Sounds like Turkey gives no fucks regarding the legal processes
>>
>>31500628
I guess it is changed just enough where H&K cant go after them for it.
>>
>>31496236
They run the gamut, but most of them are pretty good at unbeatable prices. Haven't had a turk clone yet I disliked.
>>
>>31496542
remington was a typewriter factory that started making guns in ww2. They now make shaving products. Your argument means nothing.
>>
I want a Sar K2. Looks like the love child of a P226 and a CZ. Plus gimme a double stack .45 ACP
>>
>>31496236
The screw that keeps the trigger bar on my Canik tight loosened. Fucking roaches.
>>
Best value turkshit pistol?

Anyone know if they make and BHP clones?
>>
>>31502304
Remington Rand just made 1911A1s. Rock-Ola & IBM just made M1 Carbines.

They were not like Baikal, GE, Norinco, or Daewoo who make everything.
