What are some good tv shows or series that you guys enjoy? Obviously those that have guns or weapons related.

I liked Narcos a lot. Nice gunfights and interesting story. I was thinking of maybe checking out the Sopranos.

How is it with fire fight scenes?

Miami Vice, the first three seasons.

That was really fucking cool actually. I think I have to start watching it now.

like i said, greatest show ever made. james gandolfini is incredible and all of the main characters have great storylines and depth. here's another great scene to wet your whistle.

Another one to check out. I love crime shows that are serious and gritty. Some humor is alright still.

What about documentaries or "educational" shows? I enjoyed Surviving the Cut.

One glaring issue I found with Narcos was the fact they featured the Galil ACE a lot, a gun that wasn't in service until 2008, for the 80's-90's period. At one point some guys were using ACOG's too.
>>
>>31495287
>>31495323

I made it about half way through the fifth season.

It kind of petered out for me.

I liked Narcos despite the period incorrect weapons and accessories triggering my gun autism.
>>
I really liked Sabagebu. One episode was basically an advertisement for Japanese NRA.
>>
>>31495496
yeah it was kinda like game of thrones where nearly anyone could get killed and things could shift dramatically in the course of an episode....or itd go a whole season without much happening but buildup
>>
>>31495476
Yeah, that always looked extremely out of place for its time. Way too Modern.

>Another one to check out. I love crime shows that are serious and gritty. Some humor is alright still.

Miami Vice is really unique in its tone. Its really cynical about the futility of the drug war the cops are fighting and the inefficiency and hypocrisy of the justice system. But its not afraid to throw a gun fight a car chase and a speed boat chase at you while Jan Hammer's 80's electronica hums in the background.

Its really just the most magnificently 80s thing ever made.

Also Sunny packs a freaking Bren 10mm.

>>31495573
That would be a valid excuse if not for the fact they had period correct Galil's in other parts. I get the feeling someone had the job of getting more Galil's and got a bunch of ACE's not knowing any better because they share the name.
>>
>>31495645

I mean he's right that the market apparently wants everything to be ugly polymer shit with garbage triggers like the Glock 20; but I sure as fuck don't.

I think the fame of the Bren 10 has faded to such a degree that reproducing it probably doesn't make sense commercially. But I'd buy the fuck out of a metal framed DA/SA 10mm with a doublestack magazine.

Iraq kicked off just as the Marines were transitioning out of M81 and DCU into MARPAT.
A lot of IBAs and PASGT helmets in that era.

Yeah, it's pretty slow moving and the gunplay is the only thing that's disappointing. CGI muzzle flashes and generic stock sounds. I'm kinda worried that the Vietnam flashbacks are gonna be B-movie as fuck.

What's up with Cinemax producing watchable TV? Strike Back, The Knick, Banshee now this. If it weren't for the excess of titage I'd almost say they're trying to get past their Skinemax reputation.
>>
If you enjoy the gun scenes in Narcos, you don't belong here. They use guns that are COMPLETELY wrong, as well as using Blank-Firing guns in close ups, instead of passing/quick scenes like most shows do.
>>
>>31496545
I acknowledge the gun play wasn't realistic. I just liked seeing the actual weapons themselves. Too many crime shows always just have the characters using only pistols. So it was nice to see a good variety.
>>
>>31496588
It was the guns themselves that were wrong, asshole.

>M4, M16 with ACOGS in the early 80s
>Galil ACE with holosights in 1990
>Those fucking blank-firing guns shown being unpacked from crates instead of UZIs
>>
>>31496627
I still enjoyed seeing them.

Stop showing your power level
>>
>>31496726
>it's okay to be wrong
No, it's not.

Seriously, I don't get why they went with MORE expensive options that just getting the correct guns.
>>
>>31496740
I know it was the wrong guns, I still found the show enjoyable.
>>
>>31496799
That's an acceptable answer. I also enjoyed the show, the guns being wrong didn't help it is all I'm saying.
>>
>>31496824
I know what you are saying though. Little details can really break that authenticity. It would be nice if a show that has a lot of gunplay, they would do some research on the proper era and weaponry in the time it is.
>>
>>31496844
Really bad gun effects are a big reason why I stopped watching The Walking Dead
>Revolver cylinders not spinning
>Huge fake recoil on an AR15
>No recoil on 30-06
>etc etc

Narcos has the storytelling and acting to keep me interested when the guns suck, TWD did not.
>>
>>31496905
Walking Dead definitely had awful gun play. The rules of guns seemed to change depending on how the writers felt that day. And the story got old. After the prison I lost interest.
>>
>>31496933
Yep, I lost interest before the Prison fell, but that same timeframe.

Breaking
Fucking
Bad

Sopranos is great and I advise watching it but don't expect many impressive shootouts. It's mostly either point blank executions or sloppy mag dumping without even aiming down sights. Good story though and memorable characters.

I also really liked Boardwalk Empire. I feel like it was a really overlooked show. I'd say it's probably just as good if not better (I think I liked it slightly more anyway) than The Sopranos and it's more /k/ related.
