No. You're gonna get super motivated, then fail the assessment because you didn't train enough for the swim and get pushed into a shitty admin job. Your motivation will take a huge dip once you realize that nobody really cares about 'that one time that you were a PJ for a weekend' and soon you'll spiral into the same thoughts of apathy that you've had before. Eventually you'll feel isolated, used up, and abandoned and will kill yourself by carbon monoxide poisoning with your phony pony Mustang in your girlfriend's garage at two in the morning.

I always wanted to do Para rescue, but I was DQ'D from the Air Force at MEPS. I ended up going army instead, fulfilling the age old meme.

I knew how tough it was to complete the pipe line, and I started early. I asked my dad what it took, and he pointed me in the right direction. I did CAP from 12 to 18, lettered in two sports, and was honor roll, and graduated in the top 5 of my class.

All this and my dad said I would still probably wash out, assuming i was even accepted in the first place. My entire high school career was focused on that one goal, and I still didn't have much of a chance. Being a pilot is even more difficult.

My advice would be to finish school. In anything, doesn't matter the major. Some sort of engineering would be best, but as long as you can do calculus, youre good.

After you finish, talk to a recruiter about going officer. You can do ROTC if you want the easy way out, but OCS is the way to go. You can try applying for aviation related fields, but don't hold your breath.

You dont just need motivation, bud. You need a vision or a dream. Figure out what that is while you're in the military getting paid to babysit. Try out everything you can. Get as many schools in your contract as possible, and don't swear in until the specified training programs are listed.

They don't only do search and rescue.
You've obviously never, ever met one in person.
They get some of the best medical training available, go to combat dive school and military free fall school as well.
They can hang with any special operations through any branch.
Their fitness requirements are even more strict than CTTs.
