OP here. I have medium sized dogs as well as young children that play in my backyard, I'm more concerned about a hungry aggressive bear trying to fatten up for winter rumbling into my yard than it attacking me.

I live in a relatively densely populated area so it wouldn't surprise me if it got brave and tried to grab a meal
