Post Mausers plz.
And how do I do a full clean of an M24/47 with only patches, the default cleaning rod, and spray?
DO NOT USE A STEAL ROD. You will damage the bore on your rifle, use aluminum or fiberglass.
Also here is my yugo mauser
dont use the cleaning rod it came with, i think its high carbon and will scratch your bore.
my vz-24

>mfw I've used it before
What about tieing a rag to a piece of cord?
>>31470847
sure if thats all you have, but you should get a full length clearing rod and probably a nylon brush for it.
>>31470936
It's all I've got at the moment, but I think it'll work.
Here's my German captured vz24.all matching except the stocks refinished
Sweet
You really should get a full-length cleaning rod for milsurps, either plastic-coated steel/brass, or carbon-fiber.
HELP ME /K/ I BOUGHT A YUGO MAUSER AND NOW I SUDDENLY WANT TO REMOVE KEBAB
WHAT DO?!
>>31471889
You know exactly what to do
>>31471889
No fite; just friends.
>>31471999
>999
Well hell.
>>31471999
Trips of truth
>>31470473
its fine to use the steel rod if you also use the muzzle protector
>>31471800
i use the steel rod my rifle came with, but i use the muzzle protector as well which keeps the rod centered and away from the bore
1906 not sure of the model.
>>31472070
>>31472102
>cleaning from the muzzle-end
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>>31472127
Gewehr 98. If you ever wanted to restore it, you could use the stock from a Brazilian M1908. Would look pretty close for a 1906 Gew.98.
What factory?
>>31471889
Follow your dreams
>>31472129
not an issue if you use the proper equipment
>>31470245
Beautiful picture.
>>31472129
Am I not supposed too?
What's a good long Mauser that fires ammunition that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?
>>31472600
8x57 is probably the cheapest ammo, since you can still get some surplus; Turkish Mausers are the cheapest long Mausers in that caliber. The big 4 Mauser calibers all cost about the same with new-production ammo.
>>31472629
>mfw i only have 2 bandoliers
>>31470245
I just took my 1945 Kirikkale out for some fun earlier today. Felt nice to run some ammo with actual heat to it.
>>31472629
Alright, thanks man.
Saw a K-31 at a gunshow this weekend for $500 cash, metal looks great but the stock had been refinished. It looked great too, but I passed...
Was that a mistake?
>>31473074
>Was that a mistake?
Yes, you should've bought a Mauser.
>>31472875
Keblammo is so much fun to shoot.
>>31472602
thats a long mauser, very sexy
>>31473165
But I already have one
>>31474179
>one
Two is one etc.
Just picked up this dou stamped Russian capture a few days ago. Of course its been refurbished but it looks beautiful compared to the other Russian captures I've seen. I already have a sight hood and cleaning rod coming in the mail.
My m-48
>>31474993
Its got a dash too ?
>>31473074
Nah man that's not that good of a deal on that if the stock was refinished. With a refinished stock it wouldn't be worth too much. I would say though that if you bought a K-31 over a mauser it wouldn't be a bad choice most K31s will outshoot a mauser and they are a well made rifle.
>>31470488
Sure you couldn't use a few more sling loops on that, bud?
>>31475159
Nah mines an M48A, If I get a sec at work I'll post a pic from my tablet because my phone is potato
>>31474993
>>31475159
Here's mine no dash
>>31470245
Hey can we talk about c96 too i mean they are mausers as well. I am going to get one next paycheck and unfortunately the only one local is in less than stellar condition. Is gunsinternational a trust worthy site? Im looking for one in the 1500ish range and they've got one that's bretty spot on 1500. Any other site recommendations or things to look out for?
>>31477444
Pics?
>>31476977
Whats that setup you've got on the front? Some kind of rest?
>>31477777
I was in a stand, unless you meant what was on the rifle, in which case that would be my GoPro
>>31477734
The only full body pic on there is low rez but the rest of the pics seem to look okay. Minor pitting in some places and a fair bore ill probs ask if i can get some higher rez picks from em
>>31479964
>Big bang Mauser.
>>31477444
Don't mind if I do!
Went out and shot it finally. It's miserable without a stock, fun as hell with.
>>31470245
Obendorf 1918, reportedly Turkish. Rear sling loop damaged, lacking bayonet or sling.
Currently don't just have a photo of it lying alone.
>>31479964
Ah yes, the classic oshitneger
>>31477922
thats sick, i would live up there
>>31480631
Turkish ones usually have a crescent moon stamped on the receiver ring or barrel. Is that a big-old dent in the stock just fore of the rear sight?
Also 'sup Mauser-brand Mauser bro?
>>31480670
it was a nice hunting trip
>>31479964
that barrel profile is so sexy
Bumpin
So I've been reading that you can't use the serial on an M48 to tell manufacture date? Is this true?
>>31481372
Not really. It re-set every year. You can sometimes get an approximation based on the features and sometimes the markings.
Bump.
>>31483937
meowsers with mausers
Halp, /k/! What's the deal with pitting? Picked up an M48A recently and there's some pitting in about the last 1/8th of the barrel. Crown still looks decent though. Was hoping to use it as a deer rifle...
>>31485807
My M24/47 shoots like shit. Maybe it's just me. I love her, but she's mostly for fun, and I might try deer too. Unless your gun is throwing rounds all around, you can probably make her work.
>>31485896
Haven't taken it to the range yet so hopefully it'll put some rounds on target. Either way, it's definitely an ugly duckling but it's my first milsurp and it's kind of growing on me.
>>31486040
Your wallet will cry in agony, and your shoulder will burn, but by god, you're a mouser shootin man.
