First time Scary black rifle owner here. What are the best AR-15 magazines?
>>
>>31459655
USGI tan follower mags
Magpul Pmags
Lancer mags
>>
>>31459655

I like USGI (NHMTG/Okay Industries), M3 Pmags, and Lancers
>>
>>31459655
Whatever you like most.

Plastic or aluminum, doesn't really matter.

Me, I like USGI aluminum because the metal just feels more "solid" to me.
>>
I can't buy standard capacity mags in my state.
What do?
>>
>>31459686
Lancer and PMAGs come in lower capacities.
>>
>>31459686
move
>>
>>31459675
>NHMTG/Okay Industries

This
>>
>>31459686

Move, break the law, or comply and buy cucked mags like a bitch
>>
I still use the old USGI Colt aluminum, Parsons and FN mags. I have a couple of windowless pmags too. Zero malfunctions after years of constant use.

Also, contrary to some opinions, it is absolutely okay to store your mags fully loaded. It doesn't wear out the springs. The only thing that could possibly wear out the springs is loading and unloading them.

>USGIs w/ Magpul followers
Either one of these will have you set.
>>
>>31459686
Cross border, purchase magazines, stash in house, tell no one

Alternatively, i think you can get 10-round .50 Beowulf magazines. They hold 30 rounds .223/5.56 and are legal because they only hold 10 rounds of the round they're designed for
>>
recommendations for carrying 20 rounders?
>>
>>31459655
translucent dark earth lancer magazines. or pmag gen 3 40's
>>
>>31459686
Easy. Order 10/30 mags over the internet and convert them
>>
>>31459760
LCE/LBE mag pouches. It's what I used for 20 round mags in the Army back in the 1980s.
>>
>>31459686
Op here, Move now!
>>
I really like Lancers because they make my m4 look like a SIG and that's all I have ever wanted.
>>
What do yall think about this magazine?

C-Products is top notch shit, brother.

In metal

Okay are the best. Brownels and colt not bad.

Stay away from the steel mags. Especially curved 20rd. They have been nothing but issues for me.

Poly.
Magpul and lancer tie for top followed by hex.
>>
>>31460062
I have problem with them. Theuly dint like 300blk .

Also avoid ctd. They are gypsies
>>
>>31459655
Usgi with either tan gi follower or magpuo ugrade

>>
I heard gen3 pmags were shit
>>

>>

Jesus Christ, dude. Got any other favorite bias? FN are probably the best but by the time you wear out the competition, you'll be about 70 years old.
>>
>>31460281
Okay are the oem for fnh ar mags buddy
>>
I heard D&H aluminum mags are good to go, is that true?
>>
>>31460430
Ordered 20 of them I'll let ya know
>>
>>31460262
Nah they're g2g

Lancers are the best overall mags
>>
>>31459686
Buy 10 rounders then...before those are taken away as well.
>>
How are ETS mags?
>>
I recently bought a bunch of pre-1969 M16 20rnd mags. 14 Colt, 4 Simmonds, and 2 Adventureline.

Anyone have any tips for cleaning them and making them g2g? I've got a meme-interest in USGI 20 rounders. Can't post pics, not home for another 3 weeks.
>>
>>31460643
20 rounders are popular with precision shooters. Simply soak them in gasoline, wipe them down and oil them up. They don't need to sit in gas. Pretty much just dip them to get the grime off. If you have CLP, that would be great. That's better than oil. But oil would be fine.

I used 20 rounders for six months in the US Army Infantry.

I have:

>7 Pmag
>1 Brownell's aluminum
>2 Lancers
>1 Hexmag

Am I doing alright? I'm a poorfag attempting to stock up.
>>
>>31461086
Those oddball numbers of mags trigger me
>>
>>31460430
I had two rifles that had nothing but problems with them and two rifles that had absolutely no issues. The two that worked fine were a RRA and a Del-Ton build. The two that didn't do so hot were both Anderson builds.

I would just recommend buying one or two mags before you order 30 or something.

Also, the finish is glossy and scratches fairly easily, at least enough to be notable over USGI or my Brownells.
>>
>>31461723
Am I good though?
>>
>>31460643
Buy new springs and follower.
Check feed lips and bend them back if needed.
>>
>>31459655
USGI, Magpul, and FNC magazines

Speaking of FNC magazines, where the fuck can I buy more of these?

Non translucent lancers make me sad in the pants... They just look cheap even though they work well...
>>
>>31460062
D&H, Brownells, Colt, and OKAY are all better than C-Products/ACT.

And you can generally find someone selling D&H for cheaper than $10 with a Magpul follower.
>>
>>31462738
FN is just rebranded OKAY.

Assuming you mean the FN STANAG mags...
>>
>>31459655
Are the Brownell's GI mags any good?

Bought 5 of them for pretty cheap and threw some spare KAC followers into them. Are the GI bodies any good though?
>>
>>31459655
I've got like 20 Gen 2 PMags, but the only mags I've been buying lately are BROWNELLS and D&H.

I've got 5 of the stainless steel Korean H&K maritime mag clones, I like them a lot, but they are twice the cost a D&H is on sale...

pmag 20 rounders

for all likely practical purposes, 30 is really too much and too long unless you're fixin to fight.
>>
Anyone try those ETS mags or are they just meme mags? I keep being tempted to buy a pair but I can throw an extra 2-3 bucks at the problem and get more Lancer AWMs instead, so I keep holding off.

Standard metal G.I. Mags or plain gen3 pmags.
Everything else is either a waste of money or garbage.
>>
>>31459655
I've never had any problems with those cheap d&h aluminum ones from PSA. Stock up while they're cheap, if nothing else you can sell them later. Ive also got a couple IMI plastic ones and I've never had a problem with them either. I've got a few pmags (I'm assuming gen1s?) coming in the mail today but I haven't tried them yet.

Lacer mags are the best but a bit pricey

Magpul mags are ok, metal STANAG are meh, I don't use them a lot, had problems to feed because the front part was half a millimeter too high, maxlarbak are shit, bottom plate has a lot of play, this 30+1 feature is ridiculous, and they advertise that the little piece of plastic blocking the bolt while there is still a round in the mag is reversible but it's not, on my mags it's a little too tiny to make the bolt catch to function properly.
I don't shoot a lot because yuropoor but this far I am happy with my 10 rounds (shooting with the bipod) and 30 rounds standing magpul mags.
>>31459686
This sucks, even in this shithole we can have 30 rounders man. Burn your government.
>>
CDNN has been running a deal for 10 Aluminium mags woth antitilt followers and a range bag for 99$ the last few weeks.

I've used the following with success:

PMags Gen 2 and 3
ASC Mags (steel)
C Products (steel)
Brownells 30 and 20 rounders (aluminum)

Lancers. By far my favorite.

H&K Mags, holy fuck these things fit snugly.
Hex Mags
EAA/Tavor Mags, expensive but pretty neat.
E-Lander/Mako Mags (steel)

I need to try the new Daniel Defense mags. They seem neat.
>>
>>31471228
I always get a good raff when I see the "Made in Germany" tramp stamp. They make what they can't use. Hilarious
>>
>>31463782
Lancers are better. If you go ets, get the ones with mag couplers; coupled mags look awesome.

>>
>>31471228
I second the ASC stainless steel mags.

Mags breaks man. Gi Mags will get a bent lip over time especially if they are dropped in matches. Once they breaks just get a new one

>>
>>31463531
i will. i love pmags and have no issues with them. polymer can crack, no doubt about that. they arent invincible.
despite being a pmag fan, i dont think its wise to put all of your eggs in one basket. in this case meaning you shouldnt buy only one brand.
>>
>>31473599
>>31473574

Metal magazines suffer more feed lip distortion than polymer, but the polymer will crack instead of deforming.

http://modernserviceweapons.com/?p=1072

For a long time polymer mags (Magpul, Tapco, MFT, lancer, etc.) had the benefit of anti-tilt followers, but with most metal mags now either being retrofitted or coming with anti-tilt followers as well, it's really a toss up.

Really you can't go wrong with any of them, which can you find cheaply and in large amounts?
>>
I currently have 15 30rd G2 PMags, 12 30rd Hexmags, 5 30rd Troy Battlemags, and 1 20rd G2 PMAG.

No issues with any of them and they get used quite frequently with my custom build and my M&P.
