Alright. Was just at a gun show actually; tried trading it for a Postal Meter M1 Carbine. The guy was on board until his asshole buddy brought up that he just sold a beat-to-hell No. 4 sporter for $300 and mine couldn't be worth more than his "custom precision rifle".

1940 BSA No.1 MkIII* with a magazine cutoff (they went back to those for a brief time early in WWII), all original as far as I can tell, and it appears to be drilled and tapped for a period scope mount on the left side of the receiver. My theory is it's an ex-sniper, but I sadly don't have any provenance to prove that. I'll be honest, I'm not hugely knowledgeable on Enfield variations.

I've been toying with selling it to pay for an M1 Carbine or an M16A1 parts kit (or just anything else historical and cool that catches my eye), but I'm still sort of attached to it. I've been too busy shooting my No.4, though, and the old SMLE has just been collecting dust in my safe.
