I must be theo nly person on /k/ who just flat out doesn't like the taper on the high power slide or the overall design of the gun for that matter.
>mag safety
>shit trigger
>hammer bite
>offers nothing of modern designs
>tapered look of slide is unappealing
and yet this gun is considered one of the best looking and has a huge cult following.
Matebas are literally sex.
>>31454976
10/10, any 5 inch 1911 but particularly a highly polished and blued one, is going to be an awesome looking gun.
>>31455294
except for these, tacky and ugly
>>31456343
>except for these, tacky and ugly
they're made out of meteorite, iirc they sold for like 2 million
>>31456318
The mag safety is definitely lame, yeah. But aside from that they're really solid guns
>>31456362
Just the grips were meteorite.
>>31456362
cool idea, too bad they turned out ugly. Maybe a gold trigger and not having chunks missing from the grips would have helped, Idk.
>>31456318
>mag safety
Easily removable
>shit trigger
Easily improveable
>hammer bite
Never had this problem myself, also easily fixed
>offers nothing of modern designs
Like what?
>tapered look of slide is unappealing
It's svelte, I like it. The BHP might just be the most carry-able fullsize steel framed pistol ever.
Now granted, I'm a BHP fanboy. I'm not claiming it's magically a better gun than any other or that I'm cooler than you because I carry one. But I just love it and I've never understood what I'm missing out on by carrying the BHP compared anything else.
>>31456568
Aesthetically, it's subjective, I'll give you that one, just prefer the 1911's square profile myself. Other than that, you're basically saying with work you can make it not be so bad. Okay, but I personally, just will never get the appeal.
They're very popular well liked and thought of guns.
I like the way glocks look more than pretty much any poly pistol except MAYBE gen 1 P99s, but autists come out of the woodwork if I dare mention that. Ive come to the conclusion that lots of gun enthusiasts think they're a hero in an action movie and they need le epic obscure gun to stand out from the normies.
>>31456598
Tip o' the hat, anon, different strokes for different folks. That's really all we can say about gun aesthetics.
The 1911 is a very, very close second for me, both in regards to aesthetics and in general. Between my BHPs and 1911's I feel like I'm set for life in the pistol department.
But some 1911's need tinkering too, to realize their potential, and personally I don't mind fussing on my guns. Totally understand that's not appealing to everyone, though.
And I do wish they made BHP's without that dumb mag disconnect.

Minimalism is aesthetic, and the proportions of the glock 19 really work for me. Especially with a light and RMR on it.

350 is about what you'd expect.
If you don't want a fancy venthole, then a drill press, level, and good measurements will make a serviceable one.
