Said that almost universally if a gun was in good condition and had a full magazine it was because it was recently stolen, and that most criminals had little to no idea how to operate their firearms in even the most basic sense, never cleaned them, and often couldn't even load them properly.

These people are not doing this because they're smart or brave, they almost always run when confronted and if they fight are rarely effective at doing so, they count on you being too scared or defenseless to do anything about it, which is why you often see them being totally relaxed while they rob a store or mug someone, guns held in limp hands at their side or just sometimes gesturing vaguely with it.

Really surprised me how often the criminals have guns that literally don't work, are unloaded, barely loaded, or jam one or two shots in, according to their data, sadly I don't have the report easy to hand or I'd cite it for you.

But just look at these videos and you'll see how relaxed and unprepared the robbers are, hands at their sides, totally relaxed, guns rarely ever actually aimed or even pointed at their victims. They just show off the gun and expect you to not fight. And when you do fight, they run.

Think about it, of course they run. If they get away then it's just an attempted robbery that a lot of people don't even report, because "Officer someone tried to rob me and I shot at him, no I don't have any evidence" isn't a report many people want to call in. But if he fights back and kills you, then suddenly he's a murderer and is going to have a lot more heat on his trail and facing a lot worse penalty if/when he gets caught.

Getting away is his priority, even if he could win, standing and fighting is not a good idea from where he stands.
