1940 BSA No.1 MkIII*. One of the early-WWII where they inexplicably re-added the magazine cutoff, so that's kinda cool. Blueing is all pretty nice, and the stock APPEARS to have its original finish, though I'm not certain. Receiver is drilled and tapped for what appears to be a period scope mount. I have my suspicions that this was used as a sniper rifle, but I don't have any actual provenance for that.

Comes with a Wilkinson P-1907 bayonet and scabbard, which is correct but not matching.

Would you like to cite for me that law? Because there is no such law. It is illegal for an FFL to make and sell a firearm without a serial number. It is not illegal for a private individual to make a firearm without a serial number as there's no requirement they do so in federal law.

As long as the firearm is made without intention to sell but then sold at at some point in the future, no requirement that a serial number is ever affixed exists. This is why I stopped coming to /k/, it's full of nothing but fucking retards spouting off about shit they know nothing about.

Prior to 1968 only title 2 weapons needed serial numbers. After the 1968 GCA FFLs were required to serialise any title 1 weapons they imported or manufactured as well.
Non-FFLs are not required to serialise and the sale of unserialed guns is perfectly legal.
