Where the fuck can I buy one of these?

Do I need to buy a plane ticket to Russia just to own one?

If so, fuck, who's the cheapest possible airline.

Also QTDDTOT.

More of a 4 fan myself, great servers.

But I really want one of those, love the idea of a pistol able to feed from either side.

Banned from import, at least in America.
>>
>>31439052
Could I import one as a citizen?

I've never tried going overseas for a gun before but fuck if I need to I will, I want one of those fucking pistols.

https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/210/~/requirements-for-importing-new-or-antique-firearms%2Fammunition

Reading this gives me the impression that I can, but I don't want to arrive in Russia and be told that guns that fit in shoes can't be imported.
>>
>>31439092
nyet, comrade. you cannot. unless you were an ambassador or some other high up politician, because laws don't exist when you get enough political power.

>>
>>31439092
Nope. Your easiest option is to become a citizen of Canada. They can get them there.
>>
On a tangent; if for whatever reason the authorities were to inspect or sieze your fun collection and discover a firearm that is illegal to import but otherwise complies with all all federal, state and local regulations, would one be penalized for possessing said firearm? As I understand it, the burden of proof is on the authorities to prove that you knowingly acquired the weapon illictly.
>>
>>31439013
>who's the cheapest possible airline
Use skiplagged to plan your trips.
>>
>>31441033
yes you would. especially if it's something like a MP443. it's not that hard for the police to find out.
>>
>>31439013
Canadians can get them.
>>
>>31442893
But how would they be able to prove that you knowingly broke the law and didn't just buy it off of some guy without knowing better?
>>
>>31442991
doesn't matter if they could prove it or not. they'd still hit you on the ownership. maybe not a full sentence, but they'd still hit with enough to fuck your life up. just how the system goes.

you are guilty until proven innocent.

I actually did a good solid 5-10 minutes fo research for you
The Agent in the front is Robert Wanko
Aside from Carthy's and Parr
They are the only agents out of the 66 I can find with a name
So Blackman is just Blackman, so that was a deadend
So from the Secret Service Wikipedia page from 1981 (Reagan's Assassination attempt) -1983 they had used the S&W model 66 that ranged from a 2.5 in barrel
The last time the 66 was updated before 1981 was in 1977 with the model 66-1 which does have a 2.5in barrel.
But wait, the model 66-1 is stainless!
Where as Blackman's is blued?!
So he probably was using a model 19
So from the Wikipedia page of the model 19 it is pointed out that it was a standard gun for the SS with a 2.5 inch barrel
And the 2.5 inch barrel was standard for the Model 19-3 which had came out in 1967
So yes, Blackman was using a Model 19-3
Pic of the 2 guns

Can private militaries purchase and own guns that are against the NFA?
>>
>>31445423
The companies have the guns licensed. Either that, or they just keep the guns overseas where NFA laws don't matter.

Last time I was deployed there was a PMC guy who's job was to be the American liaison with the actual PMC fighters who were all locally contracted- those local fighters had all kinds of full auto shit, rockets, and all that but they never were going to set foot in the US where NFA mattered. His job was more to keep the paychecks in line and make sure the local PMC leaders listened to the ISAF they were contracted by. Anyway, he didn't have any guns officially issued to him, but he just got a bunch of guns gifted to him from the guy rotating out of country. He walked around with a handgun and an AK, his living area had all kinds of shit like an SVD, PKM, and a fuckload of grenades and rockets.

Alright, this is gonna sound dumb. Most likely, that's because it is.

If inertial munitions are things like fin-stabilized, unguided bombs, and guided munitions are things like missiles with a thermal or optical sensor of some sort, then what sort of category does the buzz-bomb fall into, which isn't quite a "guided" munition, since it does not act on sense data or engage in communication with any external guidance, but not quite a purely "inertial" one, either, since it utilizes a propulsion system to hit a far-away target?
>>
>>31446191
If by "buzz bomb" you mean like German V1s, they are considered guided. They had mechanical computers linked with sensors which were preset with triggering sensor values to guide the missiles and some were radio controlled.
>>
>>31446191
You should re-ask this in a few hours as its own post, as I'd love to answer deeply, but am busy.

TLDR is that a V-1 would be considered a guided weapon because it makes in-flight course corrections, which is generally considered to be the baseline. Obviously it is extremely primative and not as effective as modern guided weapons.

You can get one with just a rail (a short, short rail or a long, tall rail) or you can get one with the 1.5x or 3x optic, but if you get the ones with the optic it will have the rails on the scope.

Steyr is making a run of retro AUGs with the skinny, slick scopes, but I think they're all spoken for. The scopes will be removable like the current M1s, so maybe they'll make a few extra.

>Do I need to buy a plane ticket to Russia just to own one?
You can buy a plane ticket to Canada and get one for $550 maple bucks.

I owned one for a while (the civilian 446 version), it was OK but nothing to write home about. Trigger was OK, the pistol was kind of heavy (I had the steel frame version). Extra mags are impossible to find. Construction quality was 6/10, typically Russian rugged construction (although the slide did have a crack in mine, it didn't impede function or safety), finish was of mediocre quality.

Basically you're not missing anything.
>>
>>31439013

Is there a valid reviewer who's shot at least a few thousand rounds through it? I read something online about cracking frames on a paki forum of all places.

Wanting to own a shitty weapon just because it's Russian and we can't have it is a Vatnik thing. you wouldn't understand

Well, it's a gun, it shoots boolits. The only problem is if it breaks and doesn't shoot boolits anymore. So that's what I want to know about.

Also handled one in the store, the DA trigger pull is very very heavy, while the SA is pretty good.

Anyone have any experience with Independence 5.56 ammo? I've shot 600 rounds of it and out of those I had a few light primer strikers and 1 ammo that got stuck in the chamber so bad I was forced to mortar the round out. However I am not sure if it was a Magtech brand 5.56 ammo as I put the two into a container I used to take to the range.

I've had NO issue with American Eagle M193 or Wolf .223 and 600 of each so far.

If I plan to use these Plano storage cans to hold unboxed rounds, should I invest in those silica packs? I'm thinking the longest the ammo would ever stay in these cans is 2 years, but hopefully I'll be able to shoot most of it within 1.

Probably not economically feasible. I've half assed thought about doing it to my 5904 but S&W won't work on them any more apparently and the price a smith would charge would likely make my butthole pucker into a singularity. (if it was even feasible)
They made 5926 and 5924 variants but they are rare enough to really only be suited for collecting, plus they only have bobbed hammers.

Heating the hammer and trigger holes to red hot, quenching them, then heating the top rails seems to be what everyone says but I've seen some people also say the thing will fall apart if I don't heat treat all of it, or that heat treating the whole receiver will warp it. Some say to anneal the receiver then let it air cool, others don't mention this step. Does anyone have any thoughts on this that has done it before? Why is birdshot way cheaper than buck or slugs? The way I see it you're using only slightly less metal due to the gaps between the pellets yet a cheap shotshell is 1/3 the cost of a cheap slug. It seems birdshot would be more expensive because all those little pellets need to be produced instead of fewer larger pellets or just one big slug.

economy of scale and frequently use of cheaper materials. I assume it is easier to pour 1/4oz of 8 shot into a wad than it is to make sure your buckshot stack properly then add buffer in addition.

low brass=cheaper shells, less powder, no buffer, etc.

an ounce of lead is an ounce of lead, and its actually easier to make smaller shot than quality (round) buckshot. Although at a large industrial scale it isn't probably all that much more difficult.
>>
>>31455862

Try weighing them, there is probably a larger difference than you expect
You also need more gunpowder to fire the slug

cut shells won't feed reliably from a tube and wax shells have the potential to melt in your barrel after a few shots, drip down then create a pretty nasty bore obstruction when they hit a cooler length of barrel.

I'm looking to buy a .22LR rifle, and I'm really into the Henry lever action ones, but I don't have a lot of money. It would cost me about 340ish at my local shop, which would be pretty much all of my gun fund right now. The same shop has a deal on a Savage 64 that comes with an accu-trigger and scope and all that cool shit, and I would save about $40 and be able to put that towards some ammo. I already have a bit of ammo, but wanted some more before the elections start and the fucking panic starts setting in and drying everything up. Is the Savage 64 a good rifle, or should I go with my original idea of getting the Henry? Don't really want a Marlin model 60 and the 10/22s they have in stock cost more than the Henry and Savage.

I actually have wondered this sort of thing for a while...
I'm a Canadian, who wants to move to Washington or Oregon for guns and coding jobs.
So can I bring my personal slav guns with me? Is there a limit on how many guns I can bring? A limit on how long I have to have owned them for them to be legit?
Could I buy crates of 400 dollar SVTs, 200 dollar russkie SKSs, and Type 97s, and then be like "Absolutely this trailer is my personal gun collection, customs officer!" Then make a mint?

Seems unlikely, logically, but then it also seems unlikely 'Merika would deny me the right to bring my own guns with me when I become a citizen.

Sidenote... you guys really need to work on making it easier for say, a white canadian with skills, to get citizenship, while making it harder for paco and his abuela to move in and fucking VOTE, despite being illegals. Just a suggestion.

And no. You can't bring them in without going through a licensed importer. Look up US Code 922. If you could import them that easily, someone would have already opened up the market on those. The government is required to prove that you illegally imported the weapon. Even if it was made after importation of the weapon was made illegal, you can't be held accountable for a crime that the government can't prove you committed or were complicit in.
This is why there are so many SVTs and a few Norincos without import marks floating around the US. Type 97 has never been legally imported to the US, but there are a few here anyways.

The cheapest and most useful thing I can think of would be more magazines. The goddam things were $60+ after Sandy Vagina. I find this kit has been really good:
https://www.modarmory.com/product/otis-improved-weapons-cleaning-kit-iwck/

I added an EOD-MUTT to it, which is nice though if you are paying out of pocket (I didn't) it may be too spendy.

Buy really cheap dollar store q-tips. They are harder than normal ones, which makes them good to clean with.

My innawoods cleaning kit is an OTIS circular pouch with the foam removed. Inside is a boresnake, some Hoppes in a bottle, a brass brush, and some patches used to wipe things down with.

Question about Chinese sks and the "pre ban" thing.

Here in ct, we have a shitty AWB. Guns made and in the country pre September 1994 are exempt from the AWB and can have a detachable magazine as all the evil features you want.

I bought a Chinese sks with a fixed mag in 2011 before the sandy law came into effect, and since importation of Chinese sks and Ak's was shut off a few months before the total import ban, it is certainly pre ban in that sense.

However, doing a 922r conversion of the gun counts as "remanufacture", thus taking away it's "pre ban" status. However, when I bought it, it still had it's bayonet mount and bayonet, so doesn't that mean it must have came here before the 1989 "sporting feature" ban? And I wouldn't have to worry about 922r? Seeing as how mak90's and other guns like that had to have thumbhole stocks and the bayonet mounts ground off?

christ k, your so boring. so that spring in the grip? have a lever that flips so that it locks in place in the appropriate location. 1 spring for both guns, a catch holds it in place according to what side you use. IF you even do combine this. you just redesign the NAA to a configuration that fits the location better, be it a silly underbarrel thing like that anime revolver mateba thing.

An old milsurps is fine to learn on as long as you're comfortable with it. If you're a new shooter and you fear your gun, in my experience you tend to not hold a good posture. Do this and that .303 will beat you up. This is inherently a learning experience, but I've seen people get scared off of shooting game because of it.

Otherwise, milsurps are amazing training rifles. They force you to learn good habits, where something like an AR or 10/22 would be more forgiving. Get good on an old Enfield, or even something like a musket, and you'll already be ahead of the game when you move to, say, an AR.
>>
I'm currently shopping for a semi-automatic rifle with detachable mags. That'said literally my only requirement. I want something historically interesting - because that's why I got into gun collecting in the first place - but I need something slightly more modern than a milsurp bolt gun. And no, I don't want a new-production gun, so no "hurr durr just get an M&P15".
I've narrowed my list down to:
>M1 Carbine
>preban Daewoo K2 (which is a bit cheaper to find)
>BM-59 parts kit build - specifically a Mk1, not the -E model with the Garand furniture
>M16A1 parts kit build - I could be convinced to do an A2, but dammit I want that Naked Snake vibe if I'm going to sacrifice my values and get an AR

I'm rather poor, so it will be some time before I can afford it, anyway. I'd like to get it before November, but that's looking less and less possible. Though I am possibly going to sell my SMLE to speed things along. As it stands right now, I basically have no money.
Thoughts? I'm autistic (you're not wrong)? Anything?

Question not related to mp443, but kinda close enough
Sometimes there is a blue tape around the mags (they can be just single mags, not like in pic) but sometimes there is a red tape. Does that mean something, or is it just random tape (and if so, why are they always the same blue/red)

>>

What should I name my Sig-P2022?
>>
>>31478703
It's electrical tape, which is good tape to use for weapon related stuff. Russian military electrical tape just happens to usually be blue.

Russian tape on weapons *almost* always has a purpose if you look closely enough. Occasionally somebody will have a bit of fun marking their mag with Russian flag colors of tape or something.

US troops do a lot of the same stuff, but it's less obvious because they use black electrical tape or green 500mph tape.

They won't even let me do the paperwork for the transfer unless the seller provides them with a FFL number. But they a) don't have an FFL, and b) aren't required to have an FFL per the ATF.

They've got it locked up and until they get that number they won't release it.

Assuming you don't live in a state with some weird ass requirements above and beyond federal regs...

This makes no sense, unless the dealer thinks that you're going to just walk away...

He is required by the federal regs to have it entered into his bound book no later than the close of business on the following day.

And, if you look at the CFR, it states acquisitions must be logged with "name and address or the name and license number".

So, he has a firearm in his possession that is not properly logged. An ATF inspector would not look kindly on his shenanigans.

Either you're really bored and making up stories or you've found an extraordinarily stupid FFL.

If it is the latter, and the dealer will not listen to reason (very few of them will listen to people on the other side of the counter), I'd suggest contacting the local ATF Field Division (assuming you're not a felon or have outstanding warrants) to ask if they'll assist in educating this jackwagon.

Give him one last chance to explain his stance and/or re-read the regs before asking for assistance from the canine assassins.

Oh, and be prepared for him to up the transfer fee to $100 or more if he's a real dirtbag.

p.s Do you have any sort of previous communications with the dealer, where they state they won't take transfers coming from non-licensees? Did you just blindly ask the seller to ship it to them without any prior communication?
>>
>>31482311

I wish I was roleplaying for a laugh, anon. I'm in Wisconsin. I've used this FFL before when I bought two guns through a DNR confiscated firearms auction - transferred from the auction company (which is a FFL holder) to them with no problem.

Gun was shipped via FedEx (seller used shipmygun.com) to the FFL. It arrived Monday. Drove to the store to do the paperwork. following is paraphrased, I don't remember exactly what was said

>Yeah I've been told I can't release it to you.
Why?
>I don't know, I think it's missing numbers on paperwork or something.
Can you find out exactly what's wrong?
>No, the manager's done for the day. He said you can come in tomorrow or Wednesday and it should be okay.

Contact seller, he calls them Monday, they won't tell him anything.

Today:
Seller calls them around 8am, they don't want to accept the gun because it didn't come from an FFL. (I learn this around 5pm)
Call them after work (~4:45pm)

>the paperwork is missing the seller's FFL number, we can't release it without that
>the manager's only here 8am-4pm, he's the one that deals with that
>>
>>31482391

-check out your gun to make sure everything is as described before you proceed. if theres an issue, dont proceed.

-they say ok and you pay whatever the transfer fee is and leave

How are people making their fixed mag ARs here in NY? There seems to be a huge amount of disagreement on what is or isn't actually compliant. I just want to be able to practice with my evil uppers and not have to go get their threads removed.

Is there something that seems to be commonly used? I know of at least a few methods but have people actually brought these out in public successfully? Like the AR Maglock, DDsranch, prince50, bullet button 2.0, etc?

So being abused as a child is grounds for being unable to own guns? Jesus Christ sometimes I almost like NY. Looks like lawyering up might not be an option but still you might wanna hit up a gun or civil rights lawyer in NJ. If the police are looking through sealed records they could be in super deep shit for violating a judge's orders. I had to give some sealed records to the military and they needed me to get the records and I had to personally retrieve them. They shouldn't be looking through your shit, its illegal.

Thing is I wasn't abused and the investigations went nowhere. This shit should be a non issue.

> If the police are looking through sealed records they could be in super deep shit for violating a judge's orders.

Thing is the guy said he got this info from a police report and not sealed documents. Either way, in NJ cops are prohibited from doing anything other than what the procedure for issuing permits requires they do, so they might have broken the law.
