Expensive and proprietary 9mm PCC.

As a combat/SD/HD firearm PCC's are inferior in every single way to an intermediate caliber carbine.

Of the various SMG-looking PCC's out there the MPX is probably the highest quality, but you pay for it.

I cannot justify spending $1500ish on a range toy that's neither accurate nor capable of long distance.

I own one and its fucking great. Got a first gen for $1200 new when the demand died a bit.

Very reliable, eats any ammo I feed it. The only thing is that some of the gas hits you in the face. Mags can be as high as $80 a piece but recently have been as low as $49 which is still fucking high but anyways lots of fun to shoot and turns heads at the range.

If you got the money get one and you won't be disappointed.

It's twist rate more than barrel length that stabilizes bullets.
Since 300blk is 5.56 powder with a 30 caliber bullet, it takes much less barrel length to get most of the powder powder burnt due to the large size of the bore (internal volume)

Not that I know of. A lot of companies have began (and then quit) making new triangle handguards like Fulton Armory and DPMS. US Collectors Ordnance is the only place that sells them, guarantees quality and is consistently in stock.

They all should have aluminum heat shields though, a lot are rusted at this point.

Given shitty storage conditions, fifty years is a long enough time to make aluminum oxide forget the subtle differences between "I'm a layer protecting the metal from further oxidation" and "I make the whole thing crumble to dust at a touch".
Anyway, the first thing to rust on the heatshield isn't the aluminum body itself, but the steel rivets attaching it to the handguard, so it all falls apart long before anything can happen to the aluminum.
